I had a potato peeler for years which was falling to pieces but I couldn't find another as good. I then got one of these about 2 years ago and loved it straight away. It then disappeared so I had to get another one. When I found the first one in the compost heap several months later, it still works perfectly so now I have two! It feels comfortable in your had and has a very sharp blade which peels thinly.

The peeler was bought to replace a similar one which I had thrown away with peelings! I had tried alternative styles with no satisfaction. Extra sharp and peels very thinly. Only criticism is, though stylish in appearance, the handle is a bit chunky for smaller hands. Otherwise a good peeler.

What a lovely little peeler! It's true, a soft touch gets a wafer thin peel. Others I've tried require some effort to pull through the potato. Not this one. Brush the skin with a touch as light as a butterfly's eyelash and it works!

I've bought at least 5 peelers that cost more than this one, but none of them are as good as this one! It is a slightly akward shape to hold, but the blade is so amazing, I hardly notice it anymore.

gem of a peeler”
The best potato peeler I have found in recent years. Simple to use and very thin strips of peel each time. Easy to clean stainless steel at such a reasonable price. Thank you Lakeland for yet another indispensable addition to my kitchen utensils.

I don't know why anyone would have a problem with this peeler. I have had many peelers over the years but this is by far the best one I have ever had. It takes minimum peel off vegetables and you can work so quickly with it, I almost feel like a professional when I use it. Well Done.

Small Hands, No Problem”
by Mrs Marni Griffin
I've always preferred this shape peeler and I've been trying to purchase a new one without success until Lakeland made this available. I have very small hands but found this utensil very comfortable to hold and easy to grip. Also it's sturdily made and sharp enough so makes short work of a chore I hate. Hats off to the designer and kudos to Lakeland for making my life that much easier without charging me the earth.

Promises but doesn't deliver”
I bought three different peelers last week when on offer. I thought I had found a stainless steel version of the little Swiss peelers which are fantastic - and I believed the advertising! First mistake. If you can get it to peel smoothly and quickly, you are lucky. It advertises as 'makes peeling a pleasure' - No,it does not. It will be coming back to the store along with the other two. Really disappointing-will have to stick to the little Swiss ones.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry that the peelers have been such a disappointment. The staff in any of our stores will be able to help when you return them.
too sharp for me”
This peeler is undoubtedly very sharp, but I cut myself on the palm every time I used it. I've never had this problem with other peelers. I had bought 2 of these; I took the unused one back to the shop and bought a different model which is great.

A note from the team: Thanks for the review and taking the time to speak to me on the phone. I'm sorry that the peeler hadn't been suitable for you, I'm glad we we're able to put things right.
I bought this because it is the best priced stainless steel peeler I have seen and I was tired of peelers which rust. What I didn't expect was how sharp and easy to use it is. Glides over the potatoes - I didn't know you could get peelers this sharp! I also find the handle comfortable although some reviewers have had issues with it, so it suits me beautifully,

Splendid Potato Peeler”
by Marianne Stevens
This stainless steel potato peeler is so good that I had to buy one each for my daughters in Australia. I live in NZ and also in Italy so have just visited the Harrogate store in the Uk to get one for Italy! it is so quick and easy to peel & makes it less of a chore.

fantastic potato peeler”
by jacqueline buffham
this arrived a few days ago along with other things I had ordered, like a child I had to try it straight away, absolutely fantastic, it just glides over the potatoes and carrots and is almost too quick for me to turn the vegetables round to peel them, I also bought the one for tomatoes and soft fruit which I tried today as I wanted to make tomato sauce for pasta, I peeled the tomatoes first rather than boiling them and then skinning them, so quick and didn't burn my fingers getting the hot skins off. When I go over to London later in the year I will buy a few for presents for friends.

This is a brilliant product it makes peeling so effortless, i have no problem holding it but agree with Carol that the handle could be better designed for people with dexterity problems, but for that it would be perfect.

Potato peeler-the end of my search!”
For years I have been trying to find a replacement for my old super sharp peeler - I have tried many - but this one is perfect - very sharp and can pare thinly. I shall buy another to keep in case they are discontinued!

I love this little peeler, so sharp it just glides over the vegetables - in fact it's the best peeler Ive ever used (and I've used a few over the years). Thanks Lakeland for finding this one.

Sharp but uncomfortable”
The blades are sharp and do make a good thin peel - when I can get it to do that. I wouldn't be surprised if this has been designed by a man: the handle is obviously made for someone with much larger hands than I have. The front loop needs to come out to half the width it does for me to hold it comfortably. As it is, my hand cramps and slips up to the blades. Because of the packaging I couldn't check this at the store before buying.

A note from the team: Thanks for your feedback. The peeler is covered by our unconditional guarantee so we'll be happy to put things right for you. We'll be in touch.
I have just used this to peel potatoes and must say it is very sharp and takes a very thin skin off the potato. I thought it looked a bit awkward to hold but surprisingly feels very comfortable in my hand. Only time will tell if the performance will last but for the price I would certainly recommend it to anyone.
