Very handy if you want to melt a little bit of chocolate in a hurry. Easy to clean.

not what I expected”
I was looking forward to making choccy lollies with my grandchildren but the pot got far too hot for them to hold and it didn't pour out as easy as we needed.

A note from the team: Thank you for taking the time to discuss this with us today. We're sorry to hear you've been disappointed with this product and hope you find a suitable alternative.
It's perfect for melting chocolate to keep up the flow of a chocolate fountain at parties. Easy to use and easy to pour. It melts the chocolate evenly and does not get too hot. Although it quite quickly starts too look shabby with white splotches but that doesn't affect the chocolate, just the appearance of the pot.

I brought this a few weeks ago and really love it, it's quick and very easy to use. I bought to melt chocolate for my house mould and it's worked perfectly.

I agree with some of the reviewers on here, no instructions with the pot, so didn't know whether to use the lid or not, and my expensive white chocolate burnt to a sugary crisp. Not happy, Lakeland products are usually excellent quality.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry that the pot has been such a disappointment and will be in touch shortly.
I threw away the instructions so wasn't sure how long to zap it for in the microwave. I did 10 secs which didn't melt it, so then I went for 1 min..... not a good idea. Burnt Chocolate stinks. I'm glad to read other reviews and I wasn't the only person that burnt the chocolate. I used Lakeland chocolate and I will try it again, this time for short bursts of 10 secs. Fingers crossed better luck next time

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. The melting time of the chocolate will depend on the wattage of the microwave. It is recommend for the user to put the chocolate pot in the microwave for short bursts of time (approximately 10 second bursts) so they can monitor how quickly the chocolate is melting. We'll be in touch shortly.
Wonderful but take care!”
I love this little pot, so useful for melting butter or chocolate. Please take care when turning inside out to wash - I tried to after using dark chocolate to coat homemade sweets but it pinged back half-way - splattering me, the kitchen and everything around! No harm done and it gave the children a good laugh and have always turned it with caution since!

I bought this melting pot ages ago and was impressed so easy to use and keep clean. however like others I would like a larger one for those really indulgent bakes that need oodles of chocolate. great price too !!

Good but a bit of waste”
This product is good and I liked the fact that the chocolate melts evenly and it is all easy to pour. BUT I found there was plenty of melted chocolate I could not squeeze out.

Easy to use silicon”
I don't have a microwave so I melt the chocolate on the stove and then pour the melted chocolate into the pot. It pours very accurately into my moulds and is conveniently easy to empty and wash. I found initially that the chocolate picked up the taste of the pot slightly, but the second pot which Lakeland sent me as a free replacement works perfectly. I cannot praise the customer service I received highly enough. It was personal and concerned and efficient - thank you!

I have used this pot twice. First time superb, second time a burnt mess in no time at all. I think this may just be about microwave power levels and would welcome some clear guidance from the manufacturer on how to avoid burning.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry you're having trouble with the melting pot. The length of time to melt the chocolate and the amount to use are variables depending on the wattage of your microwave (shorter bursts of less than 10 secs will help) and the type of chocolate you're using. Please experiment to find a successful outcome.
Waste of money”
I thought that this sounded a good idea even though I have never had any problems melting chocolate in a basin in the microwave. However, the chocolate would not melt and I ended up burning the chocolate - something I have never done before. I can see the state of the chocolate in a clear basin whereas I cannot in this jug. Sorry, but I am going to stick to the tried and tested method. I cannot afford to waste any more chocolate.

This is the best and most useful tool for melting chocolate. It's so much easier than melting the chocolate over a double boiler and much quicker and less messy as well. I am now sending one to my sister in Australia.

Bought one of these on the weekend. Quite prepared to return it after reading the reviews. Not necessary as I used it last night and it worked perfectly. Not given it five stars as I couldn't pour all the chocolate out.

i bought this about a month ago and found the chocolate didnt want to melt, i tried cooking chocolate right through to normal everyday chocolate bars in all different amounts ALL ended up going to waste (not happy as not made of money) but none of it seemed to melt down enough to pour out, i actually gave the menting pot away and resorted to a basic cup in the micro in the end

chocolate melting pot”
I use a lot of chocolate in my baking and puddings. (Most things can be improved by adding a little melted chocolate!) So I was excited about this little bargain. It's useful to have a dedicated chocolate melter that is very easy to clean. Maybe I just use too much chocolate, but sometimes I feel that I would like it to be a little bigger. Maybe I don't have the knack, but I don't seem to be able to squeeze out every last drop. Im left wanting to take a spatula to it, but its too small for that... But all in all its pretty useful!

I bought one of these at the weekend at it is fantastic. Rather than use the microwave to melt the chocolate, (which I have always found to be a hit and miss) I stood the pot in a bowl over boiling water and the chocolate melted and poured perfectly with no mess whatsoever. Perhaps the people who had problems melting the chocolate in the microwave could try this method. I want two more now so I can have milk, plain and white chocolate on the go.

I love this product, it is by far the most practical and useful item that I have ever purchased from Lakeland. Please please make a larger version so that I can use it for custard... I would love a full size version of this it would be brilliant.

Best way to melt chocolate”
Easy and foolproof way to melt chocolate in the microwave and perfect for pouring into silicone moulds. Easy to clean but does pick up dust when stored.

Very easy to use, minimal waste”
These pots are perfect for melting small volumes of chocolate and very easy to pour from. The approximately 100-150ml capacity, depending upon the shape of the chocolate pieces to be melted, is ideal for an individual portion of chocolate to accompany a home-made dessert or ice cream. To fill an entire chocolate mould silicone sheet, several pots will be needed. Hence, unless Lakeland introduce a larger capacity version, anyone wishing to fill multiple or larger chocolate moulds should consider purchasing several of these for concurrent use.
