Not so Superby Andrea

2 stars out of 5

Lakeland SuperChef

I used the Superchef during the first week of purchase for steaming and loved the results. Things went a little downhill after that - the staff in the shop told me I could cook a whole chicken in the Superchef so I thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately, the instruction manual is very, very poor - its definitely trial and error! I cooked the chicken on the oven setting not realising that I had to take the tray out of the bottom (it doesn't state in the manual that you need to do so). The end result was a lovely cooked chicken but the tray's feet had melted. Improve the manual please!

Lakeland SuperChef

The Manual is flaky!! A video is required to support it. Simple things like the Valve Indicator... The Rice Settings... Clock and Time Settings could be dealt with so easily with video. The negative Reviews shown here would disappear too. A 5-Star product with a 1-Star Manual.

I was given this as a gift and I am delighted with it. I have used stew mode to cook red cabbage, gammon cooked in cola and navarin of lamb - all delicious. I have slow cooked lamb shanks and they were divine. A hot meal when I come in from work - what's not to like!

Lakeland SuperChef

We have had the Superchef for around ten days and my wife can hardly get a look in. I have tried out some of the recipes and also some of my own using most of the programmes. We have never eaten so well or so often, and my wife did manage to get hold of it to bake the lemon sponge cake. It is a superb frier, cooker or oven or steamer or heater and everything else it does. Congratulations to Lakeland for giving us an item which will be in daily use and providing variety. We prefer rape seed oil to olive oil, but that is just a matter of taste. We are amazed at the wonders of 'Superchef'

Not Lakeland's normal qualityby Pauline

Lakeland SuperChef

Disappointed with this item. It is poor quality and the instruction booklet is useless. I was so looking forward to this but i am disappointed. Badly designed and very hard to understand how to use it. Maybe if we could get past that, it might turn out ok. Pity Lakeland wouldn't spend a bit of time and effort on producing a proper manual and recipe book. what's the point in inventing an gadget if you don't include a proper manual on how to use it. Waste of time. Would not recommend.

Lakeland SuperChef

Have had the super chef for approx 3 weeks now and in this time used it EVERY day and tried all the functions with various recipes - both new and old favourites, its just fantastic... Timings are just right and takes all the guess work out of timing and absolutely everything has turned out just correct temprature and perfectly cooked - I agree with other folks - instruction/recipe book could be better - however as with everything best to"dive" in and just try is the best option! Is a little dear -Cost wise - but feel well worth the money - no saucepans - no juggling on the hob....

Mr Abdulby Abdul

Lakeland SuperChef

This product has been a complete disappointment. The Oven facility does not work and burns every type of cooking, you can set to 120 degrees and the oven inside is as high a 190 degrees. The steam vent falls off and the legs are plastic without rubber feet, it tends to slide all over the place. This is certainly not up to Lakeland Standards

Lakeland SuperChef

I bought my superchef yesterday (28/4/12) & I made soup which tasted fab, baked a cake which was so light & fluffy. It was a chicken dish next then to top it of a bread & butter pudding which was better than cooking it in the oven. Im definately recommending this superchef to family & friends

"Lakeland SuperChef is my cooking companion." by Trishaby Michael

Lakeland SuperChef

I am delighted with my Lakeland SuperChef. I care for my disabled husband, the fabulous SuperChef lets me cook without constantly checking the food, freeing up a lot of my time, the food is excellent and the added bonus is the keep warm feature, I also like the three bells as I can hear it in the next room and know exactly what is going on. Without doubt my SuperChef is my cooking companion, No Mess, No Fuss, Food in and Walk Away.

Disappointed with this applianceby David

3 stars out of 5

Lakeland SuperChef

My chief gripe is with the 'instruction' manual; it is quite frankly an embarrassment and Lakeland should urgently review it and issue something better to anyone who has already purchased this machine. The pre-set timer does not function as described - I have tried it with 'fry' and neither of the different pre-set instructions work with this method of cooking. The device probably functions well in its various uses but, given the very limited recipes and confusing instructions, there will be much trial and error involved for the user - it is not "fill, press go - done" at all.

A thoroughly exciting kitchen gadget. Have used most of the facilities - all fine. Have braised brisket on Slow Cook and it was as tender as fillet steak. Instructions could be improved but I'm sure you'll see to this. Joyce Harris

Not just another kitchen gadget.....by Pip

Lakeland SuperChef

A really great addition to any kitchen, but I have to caveat this by saying that you will need to get passed the really poor instruction manual to get confident with it. Don't however let this put you off. Want to a cook rice or pasta dish? Fry off your ingredients, bung in the rice/pasta, press start and walk away. No more watched pots, and once the Superchef senses it's done, it keeps it warm. In fact the ability to cook anything in any way without having to keep an eye on it has to be one of its best features. Oh, and the built in clock allows you to delay the finish time to suit you. Excellent productby Jan

Lakeland SuperChef

I have used the bake, stew, fry and slow cooking facilities on this equipment and have found it to be very good indeed, freeing up much time in the kitchen and taking away the hassle of constantly checking the dish. The lemon cake in the recipe book is lovely. My only slight reservation is not being able to turn off the keep warm facility unless you are actually there, fine if you want to serve the cake as a dessert, but not so good if you expect to find it cold enough to decorate when you get home. On the whole a useful addition to the kitchen.
