"Not suitable for a caravan"
17 November 2015
We bought one of these for our caravan after my grandmother's melamine one broke. Within minutes of being taken from the fridge and put on the table, even at breakfast, the Italian sun had turned the butter to liquid. The heat was absorbed by the metal on the outside and conducted to the inner metal immediately. It is crazy to make an insulated item from a good conductor. If someone brought back the old type of insulated butter dish I would buy several. Grandma's was older than me so it lasted at least 40 years. Luckily my aunt had a spare.
A note from the team
We're sorry to hear you've experienced this problem - it sounds like the butter dish was no match for the glorious weather and temperature you were enjoying in Italy! The insulated butter dish should allow you to maintain the consistency of the butter placed inside but maybe it had been effected so quickly prior to being put in to the dish. We'll be in touch soon to help.
