using it from moment I got it and no more dishtowels or spills. Absolutely love this, great for porridge and heating things up in pyrex and not having to worry about heat or spills.

An essential piece of kit ...”
... for today's kitchen. I would go so far as to say that manufacturers of microwave ovens should really include one of these with every oven they sell. I have two and I've bought two for my disabled cousin. Neither of us would do without ours.

Why did I wait so long!”
I have little to add to the glowing reviews already in these pages. The design of the handles make it easy to grasp with two hands, and lift with my arthritic fingers. PLEASE - I would LOVE one for my 9" pasta dish And one smaller and perhaps a little higher at the sides for my large mug. With my stiff fingers I'm worried that if I tip this plate a little sideways the mug might slip.

A note from the team: Thanks for taking the time to write your review. I'm glad to hear how useful it's been. I'll be happy to pass on your suggestion for other sizes. Many thanks.

I already have one of these plates and have found it so useful that I am buying another. Also getting one for a friend. Certainly recommend.

Don't know how I coped without this before. Used to burn myself removing things from the microwave or try to get things out with a tea towel and inevitably end up with soup or porridge all over it.

Microwave's best friend”
Have just bought a second one, no more doing a hot dish shuffle when changing containers, no more burnt fingers. Easy to clean and keeps liquids under control when they've bubbled up and over. A better design and sturdier than some other makes I've seen.

Bought this microwave tray in November and totally agree with the reviews. No more burned fingers getting hot dishes from microwave and you can eat your meal from the tray, and carry your meal anywhere in your home. Fabulous

Really useful addition to the kitchen”
I bought my microwave plate about two years ago, and use it most days. Stops me burning my fingers removing hot dishes from microwave. Well designed, even for quite heavy bowls. This is great value for the price.

Oh so useful!!”

I am delighted with this microwave plate. It makes handling hot bowls of porridge and soup safe and effortless. It should win an award!

always being used”
simple and clever idea, no more burnt fingers

I have six of these because I use them as plates to eat sandwiches etc. off, rather than porcelain plates. I like something that can go in the microwave, and that won't break if dropped, and these are perfect. Of course, I also use them for their intended use, which is to put under bowls when reheating in the microwave, and I certainly don't miss burning my hands.

I am really pleased I bought this plate. I have arthritis in my hands and this makes getting bowls etc. out of the microwave so much easier and safer. The handles are easy to grip and hold. Well done Lakeland.

So good they should make it is a bigger size”
The microwave plate really is very useful. It's perfect for morning porridge! The only thing is, it would be great if it were available in a bigger size, for bigger bowls of food.

A Word of Warning!”
by Mrs Clein
This plate is a great idea and I have been using one happily for over 12 months .... BUT... I have a combination oven. I forgot to remove the plate before using the oven in conventional mode and it melted!! Fortunately we were able to remove the plastic when it was cold. I will be buying another one as I still think it's a great idea.

Little inventions can have a great impact on our lives. This is one of those. Heating food inside plastic containers is apparently not safe, so I like to make my porridge in a ceramic bowl, but it gets too hot to handle. The Microwave Plate doesn't get hot at all, it's very solid and i can carry my porridge in the mornings without burning my fingers and use it as a mini tray. Surprisingly useful.

DON'T USE FOR POPCORN - IT MELTS THE PLATE!”
by Miss Deborah Rawlins
I'm adding to the 5-Star review I wrote ages ago, after cooking a bag of microwave popcorn for 90 seconds tonight, and the centre of the plate MELTED! It WAS, and is, the best ever microwave item I've ever bought, and I'll definitely buy another asap - but no more bags of popping corn! It's a great plate, and it's been in everyday use for well over a year. No more burnt fingers. Buy it - it's great - BUT DON'T USE IT FOR MICROWAVE BAGS OF POPCORN!!! Please, Lakeland, perhaps you could add to the info on this item?

The position of our wall mounted microwave means I can only use one hand to insert and remove dishes. Thanks to this plate there are no more burnt fingers, micro mitts dunked in hot soup, or dropped dishes. A truly brilliant idea!

My cats love them!”
The microwave plate is so useful. I am disabled & I keep dropping things especially hot plates. The Microwave Plates are a great help. My cat & kitten are messy eaters, both with dried and satchet meals. I had the idea that the plates may be the answer! Cats love them & so do I... no more messy floors! Serve their food, directly onto the plate. As usual, Lakeland products are flexible. Now I've got to buy two more for the microwave! Thank you Lakeland. Sue.

So simple; so effective”
A brilliant little product. Saves scorched fingers and makes microwaving that little bit less of a pain! Highly recommended - you'll wonder what you did without it once you've tried it.
