1.2 litre plastic lidded pudding bowls”
by Mrs peploe
I love these bowls! I bought them at short notice for my xmas puds but having only used ceramic bowls in the past I was unsure if I would still get a good result from plastic - I wasn't disappointed, I used my slow cooker as my recipe called for a 7hr steaming and the result was perfect. (Worth mentioning that I didn't have any problems with the lids either, they clicked closed and stayed closed). Thank you Lakeland - another great product x

Superb pudding made in this basin”
I read many of the reviews of this product and was a little concerned by the comments about the lids. In the pack there are three of each and some lids fit better than others. Today I used a basin and lid to steam a syrup sponge pudding. As I was worried about the fitting of the lid, I covered it with foil and tied it on with string. Not only did the pudding steam beautifully, but it slid out effortlessly. Perfect pud for six hungry people!

very good product and quite useful!”
I cooked my pudding in this basin with lid on in a pressure cooker and it's perfect! No need anymore of greaseproof foil and string, very easy to turn out, and the pudding doesn't stick at all! You can later warm it directly in microwave, really useful! i'm quite qatisfied and the delivery was very quick (even to France). I really recommend !

These bowls are great but........”
I have been looking for years for bowls that can be used for steaming and microwaving. I have had some (source unknown!) from when we were first maried over 40 years ago and they are worn out. I was so pleased when Lakeland brought out 2 pint bowls and they are great but I am still looking to replace my 4 pint bowls. Are you planning to expand the range.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We don't sell 4 pint bowls at present but I've passed your suggestion on to our buying department.

I found these basins very useful & to me the lids seem to fit o.k. although I only use them for storage & haven't cooked a pudding with the lid on. My only query is that I'm not sure how accurate the graduations are, they don't seem to tally with my measuring jug.

I have these basins in various capacities and find them very useful. They have a nice shape for a Christmas pud and the plastic plus lid means you can even send them in the post to family! I see the previous post about the lid not fitting securely - to get round this I tend to cling wrap the basin once it's all cooled - nice and secure and keeps it all fresh and lovely. Work brilliantly in the slow cooker.

What a pity!”
Basins are great and it is such a shame that the lids are useless. Have experienced the same problems with the smaller sizes, so this time I didnt use the lids for the initial steam. Had hoped to use the lids for storing the puddings but they just do not fit well enough. So it was back to greaseproof, foil and string!
