I bought this blender about a month ago to make soups, mash, whisk and chop nuts and seeds. It does nuts and seeds well but I find if I put the stick attachment in a saucepan to mash or blend, the strength is almost too much and bits fly up onto clothing. One should be able to rectify this by turning down the strength using the dial on the handle, however I can't tell the difference between the two strengths. There seems no reduction whatsoever. So I'm not as happy as I'd like to be - I feel one ought to be able to control the strength better. I haven't tried the whisk function.

Good Customer Services”

I agree with another reviewer that the motor and the push on stick link, has a weakness with the plastic coupling, started to break down and not fit together. However I've have had mine some time and it was replaced without quibble and minus receipt, just returned item. It's light in the hand to hold good overall, perhaps a slot to introduce liquids into the cutting black mini bowel would be a new helpful feature, without having to unscrew it and add liquid, spices etc.

I have had this blender for 7 months. I was superb, powerful quiet and versatile. Then it stopped working. The plastic link between the handle and the lower part had stripped completely. the link is thin plastic and very small for the power which goes through it.this fault has been mentioned before. lakeland were excellent and refunded immediately. i would not buy this blender again however.

was very disappointed...blender was "too strong" - scratched bottom of my saucepan and splattered over counters. bought the red plastic splatter "thing" and still wasn't happy with results. Just went to use (have probably used about 6 times for soup) and it doesn't work.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry that the blender and the splatter guard haven't worked for you and will be in touch shortly. Please remember that the end of the blender stick is metal and will damage any coating the pan has, if it comes into contact with the bottom/sides of the pan.
Problem Pan Damage”
I mostly use a blender for soups, using it in the cooking pan to save on washing up. The sharp metal edges on this blender badly damaged an old pan, and started to scratch my new pressure cooker. The downward centrifugal pull is quite strong. I contacted Lakeland once I'd realised what the problem was, and was happy with their prompt refund. But I feel the design of this product needs a re-think.

Very heavy, buttons hard to keep pressed in when blending. Scratches the bottom of my very expensive soup pan. Splashes out boiling soup everywhere even when on the lower setting. Not much difference between lower and higher settings. Very disappointed, wish I had not bought it. My old cheap one was much better.

Really straightforward to use. The powerful motor makes this fab for finely chopping small amounts of food and blending soups really quickly - I found that it only takes a few seconds. Plus the bag means it's easy to store and keep everything together. I also discovered that you can make delicious home-made mayonnaise in a couple of minutes. Bonus!!

Wonderful video which shows just how powerful this blender this. Bought one and love it.... Much more powerful than my previous one. I love it all but especially the large mixing beaker which is tall enough and strong enough to leave the blender in when you have finished rather than leave a mess in a other bowl or bench... Also love the carrying bag... Leaves everything neat and neat and stops you looking for the bit you need at the back of the cupboard. Nothing is a problem for this blender.

It comes apart and stays apart.”

I ignored negative reviews of Blenders that are in two parts. What a mistake. The Lakeland has a serious design fault - the mechanical link between the steel shaft of the blade and the motor. It is astonishing that this is the weakest part where it should be the strongest. Our blender has only being used for soups and the link is broken. The two halves are now due for the Dump. I'm keeping the plug. I wonder, will you publish this...

Not enough speed control”
I have been using this item for a while now, usually to blend soup and sauces. I'm sorry to say that I haven't got on well with it. The blender makes a tremendous mess - even with high sided containers. The problem is that and there is no gentle setting - its all top speed and the blending stick sticks to the bottom of the pan the force is so strong. I thought it was me, but seeing that some of your other reviewers have experienced the same problem I would agree with then that this blender is not so good. I'm considering abandoning mine.

damaged my non stick pan”
I read the reviews on this hand blender and was excited about using it for my home made soups, I make a lot of home made soups and I thought this would be perfect!! there is no question that this blender is powerful, however you can not stop the blender getting sucked down to the bottom of the pan, this has damaged my non stick coating on my pan. Also there is little difference between the normal mode and turbo mode! I have lost faith in this and therefore I don't use it anymore! I am a regular shopper at Lakeland and its not often I'm disappointed with my purchases!!!

A note from the team: Thanks for your review. The My Kitchen blender can be used directly in a saucepan, however the manufacturer's guidelines for the saucepan should be followed too. It's best not to use metal utensils in a non-stick pan to protect the coating. We're sorry that you've had this experience and we'll be in touch.

We've tried a couple of other similar products, and like this one the best. The product has a sturdy, "quality" feel to it. One minor qualm: the instructions refer to a "non-slip base" for the chopping bowl, but this is not actually included in the set.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. This is a mistake in the instruction booklet. There is no non-slip base for the bowl included with the item. I've asked the buyer to remove this from the booklet.

Friends persuaded me I needed a stick blender, and so I decided on this as knowing Lakeland's guarantee I thought I could always bring it back. It's wonderful; liquidizing a large pan of soup in less than three seconds, and finely chopping 100g of chocolate easily. There's so little washing up; just the end of the blender (which detaches easily) and your pan, no blender jug, no bowl into which you've had to decant the liquidized soup. I love it and certainly will not be returning it.

Good but noisy”
I find this blender a very good performer but very noisy indeed. I use it mostly for blending soups.

I have yet to blend soups without having to clean my whole kitchen afterwards, I use deep pans but still the juices splutter everywhere. I did try to transfer to the beaker, but it is much the same and besides, 5 litres of soup via the blender and one slowly loses the will to live and still a lot of mess to clean up. The turbo is not for the faint hearted, so would not advise for a person with a weak grip. I have bought other brilliant items from Lakeland but this one definitely gets my thumbs down!!

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We reccomend (as shown on the video demonstration on the web)that the blender is fully immersed before switching on to reduce splashing. I'll be in touch shortly to help.
Brilliant and much better then the more expensive ones”
I bought the Bemix blender and hated that so Lakeland took that one back and I got this one instead, this is about £50 cheaper but it is far better. It does everything it should and so much more. Home made mayo or salad cream is as easy as soup and fresh beefburgers are a winner every time. The variable speed really does help and the turbo button gives you that extra help for starting soft breadcrumbs. The bag is a great extra as it keeps everything neat and tidy. I would recommend this to anyone.

I have now had mine a year and it's still going strong unlike cheaper brands. I blend soups in seconds. Makes bread crumbs with little mess and makes mince finer ready for burgers. Powdered instant dessert made in the beaker is simple, though even on low setting still splatters until it starts to thicken. Shame there is no non slip base on small mixing pot. Easy to clean and love the storage bag.

I blended some (tinned) pineapple this morning with my blender (couldn't fit my jug blender together!) and decided to add a little celery to see how it coped (fine!) and then a chunk of (raw) carrot. I was amazed at how easily it managed everything. Amazed and delighted! Much easier to clean than my jug blender and saves me having to buy a juicer (though obviously there was a little pulp in the smoothie).

Good for making soup!”
My cousins bought this for me as a xmas present as I'd said I wanted to make soups. Easy to use, and blends the soups to the consistency you want. Several speed settings. Can blend straight from the pan (as long as you cool it down a bit first) so less mess and washing up than faffling with a bigger blender. Haven't quite figured out what the beaker is for though. Is it just to contain food or can I blend in the beaker? Sometimes when you blend, it can gurgle and splutter a bit, but you just stop, then press button to blend again.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. The beaker's handy for blending small quantities such as egg yolks or egg whites. Keeping the blender close to the base of the pan also helps to reduce splashes. Hope this helps.
I bought this blender a couple of weeks ago and have to say it is really good. Much better than my last one! What I like best about this product is, it is very easy to clean and because of the case is also easy to store. No longer do I have to rummage around drawers for the bits and bobs - it sits neatly on a shelf. I had a couple of other bits with this order too - but I have only just realised I didn't get my free gift!!! Mind you it's not the gift that makes me buy from Lakeland - it's the quality products and wonderful costomer service. Well done everyone.
