Does Great Pineapple Gammon”
by Miss Charlie Hocking
So far I've only used the cooker to cook a gammon joint, so much easier than boiling or baking normally, put ingredients in, turn on, walk away, come back 10-12hrs later to perfectly cooked & flavored gammon. Plan to do chilli, stews and chicken in the near future. Thank you Lakeland for another great product reasonable priced.

Slow to heat”
by Miss Knowles
I bought this at the end of October so I've now used it enough times to leave a review. I have mixed feelings about it. I love the size, I love the sleek bowl(dishwasher friendly) and I'm very satisfied with the way it cooks once it starts to cook. I bought this so I could cook, go to work, and my childminder could turn it on and it would be ready for dinner. The problem is that, from cold, it can take over 1.5 hours to reach simmer on the high setting. Seems rather too long to me and defeats the purpose of why I bought it if I have to make it fresh and be at home.

A note from the team: Thank you for placing your review. The slow cookers are designed for you to switch on in the morning and have a tasty meal ready when you return at the end of your working day. We'll be in touch shortly with some further help.
Like another recent reviewer, my slow cooker has developed a crack - it's like the base is breaking away. It states it is dishwasher proof, so I can't work out what's gone wrong. It worked perfectly fine for about a year or so (in fact, it's brilliant for my casseroles), although it is used a lot - would expect it to last longer than this though even for £30! Inconvenient to take back to a store so I guess its destined for the bin - so disappointed as I loved it.

I purchased one of these and have been pleased with it until now it has developed a crack for no reason there is now liquid seeping into the base. I would like to purchase another but I am apprehensive.

A Joy to use”
by Mr Sanders
It took all of 10 mins to prepare switch slow cooker to AUTO and that was it dinner ready when we got home from work.

I've had two previous slow cookers in the past and never really used them because they either burnt everything or were just too much hassle to use. I purchased this Lakeland one a couple of years ago and have to say how much I love it. Nothing burns anymore and the Auto setting is perfect for me as I work during the day and cannot sit around for two hours to turn something down from high to low. Will Lakeland ever make one where the internal pot can be used on the stove, similar to crockpot's offering?

Excellent slow cooker”
I had never used a slow cooker before, but I couldn't go past this one because of the reviews and price. It really is excellent value for money. Works very well and is good quality.

a kitchen must have”
I bought the small slow cooker last year as there's just two of us but was so impressed that I bought the large one last week so I can batch cook for the freezer. They're very easy to use with great results. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Getting a new one!”
I had one of these slow cookers from Lakeland a few years ago and used it several times a week for about 4 years before the porcelain gave out. When I replaced it I went with a Crock Pot brand, thinking I'd prefer it, but after only six months, I'm replacing it with a new one from Lakeland. I missed the light that this one has and the temperature of this one seems much more accurate. Great product, good value, definitely recommend this.

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker”
by Mrs GOUGH
I have returned two of these slow cookers for the same reason - the black plastic control knob is very easily broken (and unusable) if you angle the cooker and the knob touches a firm surface. Previous reviews have highlighted this problem.

minor problems but a great cooker”
Like"concerned" I too find that fluid bubbles out of the side of the lid when cooking on HIGH and have to ensure that the lid is on exactly in the middle. A heavier or slightly larger lid would probably eliminate the problem. I was also disappointed to find that the oval shape makes the cooker unsuitable for cooking cakes and puddings that have to be cooked in a circular dish or cake tin as they don't fit. However for stews, soups etc it is excellent and so easy to use.

Burnt too many times!”
by Mrs Harding
I used my 'Croc Pot' for many years until someone dropped the lid so I had to buy a new one. I bought this about 6 months ago and am rather disappointed with it. The outside gets very hot and I have burnt myself once too often, the cooker is light weight so you cannot hold the lid and stir as it moves about so this is when I go to grab the handle and the side of my hand gets burnt! Also when slow cooking a chilli I found I had to stir it hourly as it started sticking on the bottom, also the screws inside the main body have gone rusty- Im afraid Im on the search for a better sturdier one.

I have had my Lakeland 3.5 litre slow cooker for only 3 days and have already odered one for my daughter and recommended it to 5 friends.Meat is tender, tasty and succulent and vegetables keep their form and don't turn into mush.

The best slow cooker at a fab price”
I love this slow cooker, it is cheaper then a lot of models but it does everything it should. I use this at least 3 times a week for everything from pot luck chicken to curry and soup. It is easy to clean and store and the settings are perfect for every meal. I have even done a breakfast stew left over night and it was perfect. Chickpeas left on high for 8 hours cook through and save a lot of money. This is a must have item and worth every penny.

One of the best things I have ever bought!”
by Mrs Williams
I wish I had thought of this sooner, but a new job with a commute and no time to cook prompted me to buy this and I haven't looked back. I bought the lakeland cookbook which has fantastic and diverse recipes - in fact Lamb Rogun Josh is simmering away at home waiting for me. So far I have cooked caseroles, chilli, tagines, chinese broth and curry in this amazing gadget. Cheap cuts of meat are best so it saves money too. I chop the ingredients in the evening and put them in a bowl in the fridge, throw it all in the cooker before I leave for work then come home to delicious supper. Perfect :)

I have the smaller one (reviewed), and now this one too. I have just done a bulk quantity of multi fruit compote using both at the same time, fabulous. This is a good all round average size. They look smart & classy. The switch feels very strong with a definite click and the light is bright enough even in bright daylight. I particularly like having an 'auto', as it gives whatever you are making a kick start and then reduces to a lower heat without you having to be there. What you can cook in these slow cookers knows no bounds & it's quite easy. Like the small one, I thoroughly recommend them.

I am new to slow cooking, and had no idea how versatile they are! At the moment I am still experimenting but I have made superb cakes and desserts in mine so far - and the intention was to make main course meals! I bought The Slow Cooker Cookbook at the same time and that has been invaluable - I cannot for the life of me understand why it is poorly reviewed by some customers. My only thought on any future purchase would be the capacity - this cooker is oval in shape and so you are restricted by the width of the cooker (so for cakes and desserts you can only use a maximum 7" bowl or cake tin). Very pleased with this purchase and for the price it is fantastic value for money and a kitchen gadget which I know is going to be well used!

Lakeland slow cooker 3.5 litres”
I have used this cooker several times and am pleased with the results, however the external chrome body does get very, very hot! It does have a sticker stating hot surface, but have burnt my fingers a couple of times - so be aware.
