impressed, but a bit small”
by Mrs Davis
this cooker was easy to use and the food was very tasty. The box did not have an instruction manual, but I am not sure if this was just missing. However, for a family of 4, this cooker was a bit small, and just about had enough space for meat, potatoes, and various root vegetables, so with regret I decided to return it. Shame lakeland do not stock a larger size. 8 litres would be so much more versatile esp. as such an expensive item needs to earn its keep. However very impressed Lakeland took the used item back without any questions asked! Well done Lakeland

Pressure Cooking Made Easy”
by Mrs Scott
I regularly used a high dome pressure cooker in the 80s but was always unnerved by the rushing roar of escaping steam. Wishing to use this method of cooking again to save time and money, I considered this product for some time before buying. It's an expensive item after all. But I'm thrilled. It has hardly been off the hob since it arrived ! Breathtakingly easy to use, with an excellent instruction book, I have made some wonderful dishes in a fraction of the normal time. And it's incredibly quiet. No more steamed up windows and dripping tiles. Sound construction. A good investment

A Slow Pressure Cooker, not recommended !”
by Alan Bullen
Last year or so, I decided to buy a new pressure cooker, we bought a new Kuhn Rikon one. Looks great, well made, but doesn't do the job as well as the old Prestige ! I even bought a new spring because I thought the one fitted was the wrong rate, wrong pressure, no, the potatoes still came out uncooked.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry for the disappointment and will be in touch shortly to help.
I have recently purchased the Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker although it is expensive I have been using a pressure cooker for over forty years and this one is fantastic quick and no steam, I will certainly be saving for a second one.

I purchased this Kuhn Rikon Pressure Cooker to replace my previous one, which when last in use the valve blew out! Thankfully I was not injured but it was very alarming. I have always had a pressure cooker and so I then had to search for a replacement - given the good reviews on this make and model I decided to order it. This one is so easy to use and so quiet - I did not have the 'alarming hissing' that my last one made. It is a well made pan and the instructions for use are clear (once you find the right page). I hope it will continue to impress.

My previous experiences of pressure cookers was that they were noisy and hissed a lot, this pressure cooker is almost silent.

With gas/electricity bills rising and our love of slow cooked meals, we decided to resurrect our old Prestige pressure cooker. However, this wasn't successful so we took the plunge and bought this model from Lakeland. We are very pleased with our purchase. It's very easy to use (I was always scared of the Prestige!), a little bit of trial and error on timings required but once mastered, everything cooks to perfection. No escaping steam, no noise and good-looking to boot, although a bit pricey, we're very pleased overall.

What's not to like?”
I debated for a long time about investing so much money in one item, but I am so glad I did. It is heavy but the D-handle helps when it needs to be moved. It's wonderful to use for beans and such, which traditionally need a long soak and then long cooking. Unsoaked beans can be cooked perfectly in under 20 minutes. The lovely integrated cooking dial broke fairly quickly, so it doesn't look quite as good now. Would be nice to be able to get replacement sealing ring through Lakeland and to have an accurate image ~ you can't fill the pressure cooker to the rim!

Rukon Pressure cooker”
by Mrs Sharpe
I have had my pressure cooker for quite a few months and in that time Lakeland very kindly offered to exchange mine because it wasn't working properly - taking far longer and not building up pressure properly. I have really tried to like it but after 25 years of using pressure cookers, I still feel that it falls short of the mark. I am having to keep checking even though I time it as per instructions and when I check the veg they are still hard. It really is irritating me to the extent that I am taking the same time as boiling in a pan by the end of it. :(

Best kitchen investment I've made”
I bought this Kuhn Rikon because I wanted to be able to cook dried pulses more quickly (normally they have to be soaked overnight and then simmered for ages till soft). Now they can be done in about half an hour from start to finish. It also makes fantastic stock and turns cheaper cuts of meat to melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Maximises the taste of everything and saves time and money!!

Absolutely the best!”
I've always been a bit nervous of pressure cookers, all the hissing and the one I was using until recently gave off lots of steam, water running down my kitchen tiles with all the condensation. Not so with this beauty! No hissing, no steamy tiles, cooked to perfection in the minimum amount of time. It costs a bit more but I think it's worth it. No fiddly weights to deal with either. I just love it!!! Only improvement would be to have one of those baskets provided for cooking your veg on top. Will have to buy separately.

I didn't believe this would cook without giving off lots of steam (after 30 years of another brand of pressure cooker), but it really does. Quite expensive but worth every penny.

I am very pleased with this product - so different from the pressure cookers with dangerously rattling weights and massive outpourings of steam  that I remember from my childhood.  This feels very safe & it is very quiet. Great for stock and soups - I couldn't believe how quick it was! I found that you need a bit of fiddling with the dial on your hob to get the right setting for the correct pressure. If you do get the temperature too high it will let the steam out through the valve - it was noisy when it did this but it didn't worry me as I always felt that the cooker lid was well secured and the valve was doing its job properly. Only one downside -  made a steamed pudding the other day and was a bit miffed that my Lakeland 2 litre steamer didn't fit into it!  I am either going to have to buy a 1 litre LL pudding bowl or get my other half to bash or bend the handles off the 2 litre version!   Had to resort to the old glass bowl and string - not much fun!

Regrettably I had to relinquish my old pressure cooker (c. 1982) as I had an induction hob fitted and the old one wasn't suitable. I should mention that the enclosed instruction leaflet for Christmas pudding was, in fact wrong. I spoke to a very helpful advisor at Rikon who said I was the first person to ever pick up on the error and very kindly emailed me the correct version. Anyway, reheated Xmas pud: perfect. Stock from the carcass 45 mins (instead of hours!) Just brilliant and highly recommended.

The best ever!”
by Marianne Stuart Cox
I have used pressure cookers from France, America and Britain but had never used a Swiss made one. So, what a wonderful discovery! It is the most efficient pressure cooker I have ever owned. I have used it in the last 12 months or so and made casserole recipes, vegetable soups and, even, ratatouille. Cooking times have almost halved and my time in the kitchen is very limited, so the shorter the better. I know a lot of girls who are quite fearful of pressure cookers, but with the Kuhn Rikon they need fear no more!

Bought it on Sunday and had my first go last night. I made a huge batch of fresh vegetable soup in 7 minutes. Infact it took me longer to cut the veg up than it did for it to cook. I've never used a pressure cooker before and must admit I was quite terrified after reading all sorts of stories. But this is fantastic. No noise, no hissing, not in the least bit scary. I have an allotment and also am a slimming club member and I just know that this is going to be one of the best pieces of equipment I've got. All that healthy fresh veg to go in soups and stews. I called in at my local supermarket on the way home last night and they were selling "old style" pressure cookers for £20.00, must admit I did wonder if I'd gone over the top but then I went home and used if for the first time and my advice is don't be put off by the price. It really is great. The only slight downer, as one reviewer has already said, it really should have come with a steamer insert. Other than that, one very happy customer here :)

What a Wonderful Product!”
by Mrs Williams
I brought this pressure cooker as a replacement to my Quick 'n' Easy Pressure Cooker also from Lakeland. That pressure cooker was good, but as I started to cook more advanced recipes and recipes with larger quantities, I thought this one would be more suitable - and I was not wrong! This is simply one of the best products I have purchased from Lakeland - worries about pressure cooking are a thing of the past. And because it's made by Kuhn Rikon, I know it is good quality and because it's from Lakeland, I don't need to worry if I have any problems. Thanks once again, Lakeland!

The best one ever”
by Pamela Rodgers
I've used many pressure cookers over the years, from my Mums one from the 1950s (one of those with clamps that fitted over the lid), to a nonstick one with a timer. When I decided that it was time to buy a new one for myself I did lots of research online, and found that this one was highly recommended. And, best of all that the best price was to be had at Lakeland. The cooker is superbly made, the heavy base means that nothing sticks, even when the heat is up high to bring the cooker to pressure. The mirror finish exterior means it looks good too! A handy cooking guide on top gives some basic cooking times for commonly used food items. Using the cooker is simplicity itself, prepare the food, make sure your liquid level is between the minimum and maximum amounts, put the lid on and turn on the heat. Wait until the red line on the pressure indicator is on the right line and start timing. When the cooking time is ended, reduce the pressure, open the lid and enjoy! No hissing, clanging or steamy kitchens, just beautifully cooked food in about a third of the normal time. If I had one criticism, I do think that a vegetable steaming basket should have been included, I'm using one from one of my many dead pressure cookers!

I have been a fan of pressure cookers since the 70's but recently decided to purchase a more modern version. I read the reviews and decided on the Kuhn Rikon - it is effortless - no more steamy kitchens or hissing jumping valves - and as I have been doing a lot of batch cooking for my little 10 month old grandaughter it has been such a timesaver. Lakeland take all the credit yet again. I trust their judgement, read the reviews, and am never disappointed.
