Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

I purchased this a fortnight ago and have used it a couple of times - it is does what it says on the tin and is a smashing little mixer. It's easy to use and easy to clean and the storage bag is handy too.

Find this mixer easy to use . Make a lot of sponges and they always come out very light. Also use the whisk for meringues and this whisks up very quickly. Easy to clean and I love the case it comes . Recommend to anyone.

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

I bought this on 23rd December to replace a cheaper model which had given up on some royal icing. I have always been happy with Lakeland products so treated myself. Brought it home to make shortbread for Christmas and it literally stopped after a minute. No burning smell but an odd rattle from the motor. Bit of a journey but having to return it. Not impressed !

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

I already have a discontinued version of this, and was given this as a gift and overall it is not bad. It is much quicker to use and easier to clean for smaller jobs. The dough hooks however are rubbish and cannot mix even a 1lb dough mix.

I purchased this hand blender a while ago and now it is just stowed away in the cupboard because it didn't perform as well as I thought it would. Really disappointed I am sorry to say.

Poor build quality-only lasted 15 months!by Mr Roberts

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

Bought this 15 months ago while in the Lake District. Very pleased initially as the mixer looks good, has useful attachments & storage bag and felt sturdy. Unfortunately 15 months later the mixer started smoking and the motor died while whipping some cream. I have probably only used it 10-15 times for cake mixes/whipping cream and I expected far better reliability for the price. Safe to say I won't be buying from Lakeland again as it seems the products look good but can't be trusted to last.

Disappointed with this - it has a number of design faults.by Mrs Challenor

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

I bought this to replace an old Kenwood which I found heavy but this is just as heavy. 1. Beaters should be narrow at the top, wider at the bottom. These are the other way around so you get less air in your mixture and removing mixture from the beaters is difficult. 2. The + is on the left and the - is on the right. They should be the other way around (low to high). Consequently, you speed up when you want to slow down. 3. Attachments don't release easily. I need to put it down and use two hands to press the button. 4. You can easily press the buttons by accident when you're using it. :-(

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

Time to upgrade my hand held food mixer, Lakeland are always good value, so off I go. Baking next time I find I'm struggling to eject the beaters, it takes a strong thumb, not arthritis friendly at all, the beaters don't lose the mixture easily despite high whizzing, they are too narrow at the base and don't incorporate all the mixture. All in all I am very disappointed in this product and am surprised that Lakeland have let me down.

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

Pros: All neatly contained in bag with sections for the 'feet', keeps everything neat and tidy. Multiple speeds with boost button. Cons: Heavy. Shiny silver colour makes it difficult to keep clean. Biggest issue is shape of the mixer feet-they're too narrow at the base so don't get sufficient air into mixtures - never had heavy/dense cakes until I used this mixer. Finally found same model of old Kenwood hand mixer I used to have which this was originally replacing & now have no problems with cake lightness, so clearly it's the mixer. Very disappointed especially given high cost.

A Lightweightby Christine Simon

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

This mixer worked fine with cake mixtures, egg whites and mashed potato, although it never seemed very powerful. However, I also wanted a mixer that could handle bread dough. The 5-minute maximum operating time proved to be a nuisance here, and after three months one of the dough hooks gave up the ghost, even though I used them less than once a week. Lakeland,of course, were brilliant and gave me my money back and I bought a different mixer with a slightly more powerful motor. There definitely seems to be a gap in the market for a powerful and lasting hand mixer.

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

When my last hand mixer broke I purchased this model. Absolutely amazing. My record with baking cakes is appalling but since acquiring this product I have made real cakes and am sure the other attachments will be equally good. Love the blue digital read out and the dinky bag for the mixer and bits. A product worth buying.

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

It does a very good job when it is working (the release button is far too stiff though). However I am on my second of this model (fourth mixer from lakeland in total) as they keep breaking during the simplest of tasks. My current one gave out on me while creaming soft butter last night. I will be returning it to the store for a refund this week and will be purchasing a new one elsewhere. It's a shame because I'm usually so happy with Lakeland products. I do appreciate their excellent returns policy though which will allow me to return this even though I have had it a couple of months.

Title says it all! For the price and in comparison to several others I have owned this cannot be beaten. (no joke intended). Oh dear. Shortly after writing this review the whisk attachment has broken. One of the ballon strands has snapped at the top. Still a great mixer but will need to get this exchanged (I hope)

What a great mixer, easy to use and takes the strain out of mixing cake batters and whisking egg whites. Storage case means it takes up hardly any room in the kitchen and is portable. Love it.

Overall it has been excellent and I use it daily, with great sucess in allmy cake making recipes. The major downfall is that the button to expel the whiks i so stiff and it always takes me 3 or more attemts to release them.

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

When my Kenwood Chef gave up the ghost I decided I didn't need another big machine but wanted something man enough to mix cakes and particularly meringues. I read the reviews and was a bit concerned about some of the negative comments. I rang Lakeland and was so reassured by their returns policy that I decided to take a chance. I've not been disappointed so far -no problem with meringue mixture or the cake mixtures I've made. I think the instructions not to use it for longer than 5 minutes non-stop before allowing to cool down it is worth noting. Great little machine as far as I am concerned!

First thing, it arrived with the most impressive storage case. Secondly its beaters and balloon whisk are fantastic. They are very easy to use and looks fabulous in the kitchen. Works better than its more expensive counterparts.

I bought this mixer as it is a very good price but more importantly, it works really well. I like the digital reading and it's not too heavy. The biggest bonus is that you don't have to worry about using it for a while, it doesn't overheat.

Very disappointed in this product. It is very easy to touch the start button when inserting the mixers, so if the machine is switched on at the wall it will start before you are ready which can be dangerous. Doesn't stand well on its end and will sometimes topple over. Also not 'man' enough to cream mashed potatoes, something I have done with another mixer for many years.

Good but not reliable!by Christina

Lakeland Hand Mixer Set

This is my second hand mixer of the same kind! The first mixer I had, it lasted less than a year. There was smoke coming out of the mixer and I hardly use it during the year I had it. Lakeland immediately replace it for me. Unfortunately it broke yet again on 12th April, less than two years of using it. Within the two years of having the mixer, I had only baked four times! The last time I bake was on 12th April. So I do not recommend this mixer if you are a heavy user. I am now greatly disappointed with this product especially when it had lakeland endorsement.
