A bit disappointingby Rebecca

Tea Tool

This seemed a nifty idea, the problem comes when using a small mug or a dainty tea cup (my mum will only have a small cup!). Firstly, the tool and bag take up so much volume in a small cup that you're left with little tea at the end. Secondly, if you want to use it for more than one cup at a time you either need more than one tool or to make each tea one after the other (meaning the first gets cold) - you can't use it to 'grab' bags in-cup as there's not enough room to open the claws. Unfortunately this has turned out to be fairly useless for small cuppas so won't be getting used in our house.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry the tea tool isn't suitable to use in smaller cups. We'll be in touch shortly to help.

Tea Tool

Bought this for my mum because I usually make her cuppas and I'm so fed up of using two teaspoons/my fingers and I love it! Definitely got my money's worth and I've only had it about a month! Can't fault it.

Brilliant idea - works a treat 'as it says on the tin'; however could do with being a little bit more robust.

Great product but wish it was in a different colour !by Margaret

Tea Tool

I love this product it is so useful. We have two. One at home and one in our motorhome where it is especially useful since the sink stains easily and with the teatool the teabags don't need to go in the sink. We have dark worktops and it isn't always easy to see the dark brown teatool. It would make it absolutely perfect if it came in a brighter colour

I love it! Works like a dream.Very easy to use and stops all the drips on the kitchen floor! It lives by the teapot in its own little glass pot so is always handy.Have used it for my morning cup of tea for about 3 years and it is still as good as new.Perfect.

Tea Tool

I drink fruit teas and have found that squeezing the bag with this tool enables the tea to be ready quicker than without it. Just squeeze the bag several times and the tea is ready. The tea bag is ready to throw away and there is no mess. Congratulations to the doctor who had such a good idea.

Teatastic!by Julia

Tea Tool

My mum and dad had one of these which I thought was fab so they bought me one. I have bought a second one so we can have one in use and one in the dishwasher if necessary. It is a fab little gadget. Solved my issues of scalded fingers and also means I can use my teabag twice as I like it weak. We have used them for well over a year now and no sign of breakage or degradation yet. I do notice some black specks in the tea but I think this is from build up of tannin out of the tea because I don't wash the gadget every time I use it. I would recommend it to any tea drinker - teatastic tool!

I bought mine when they were first introduced and I has been in daily use since (even through the traumas of moving house). It appears very robust, but I did buy a second one as insurance - just in case they get discontinued.

Finally given up the ghost unfortunatelyby Hannah Moynehan

Tea Tool

I've loved this little gadget for well over a year, using it several times every day. It hasn't broken but over the last few days I've noticed little black flecks in the bottom of my cup after finishing my tea. I though it was little bits of tea but wasn't convinced. I put the tea tool in just boiling water in a white cup and it seems unfortunately the plastic is degrading. I shall be getting a new one as soon a I can get to the shop but can I add to the requests for a metal version please? I suspect a metal one would get a 5!

A note from the team: Thanks for the review, I'll be sure to add your request for a metal version to the list. Many thanks.

Great idea but it still leaves an unpleasant tasteby Alan

Tea Tool

I bought this to prevent all the annoying results of making tea in a mug and it does. We were forever squeezing the tea bag against the side if the mug and then dropping it at the last moment, causing splashes down the mug and all over the work top. We dripped from the mug to the bin, causing more mess. All this was 'sorted' by the tea tool. Brilliant. The only problem is that if you use it as directed and pour boliling water on to it in the mug, it leaves an unpleasant taste in the tea.

Tea Tool

It is so simple and so perfect. Especially for rather deep mugs, which means no more scalded fingers! Tea bags never break no matter how hard you squeeze every last drop out. I reckon it will last for years.

Brilliant Little Tea Toolby Mrs Rooney

Tea Tool

I bought mine approx 12 months ago and think it is one of the best little gadgets I have ever bought from Lakeland. We as a family of three have been using it everyday and it is still going strong. I have since purchased at least seven more to give to grateful friends, who had admired it whilst visiting us. My sister-in-law was recently visiting from Canada and was also fascinated by it, she was delighted when I gave her two to bring back home.

Excellent idea: unfortunately the tea tool isn't all that strong. I'm now about to replace the second one to break in normal, admittedly frequent, use. And they're not cheap.

Thumb Loopby Mrs Green

Tea Tool

A neat gadget which does the job well. One suggestion my husband made was that it would benefit from having a loop on the end to slip your thumb in so that lifting the plunger could be easier and one handed.
