FABULOUSby Mrs Crossan

Potato Bag

Really like this it's very trendy for modern kitchens too.I buy Cyprus potatoes which have lots of earth still on them and which usually create such a mess in my normal storage baskets but this is great and of course the earth helps keeps them fresh ,in my opinion. I would like to know if I could use for fruit as I don't like the gaudy colours of fruit bags and I buy loads of fruit each week. I use a nutribullet everyday and it would be great to buy another bag for the fruit,YES Or NO please.

Potato Bag

I used to keep spuds in the fridge but was persuaded by the reviews of this product. Given that the bag is kept shut and in a dark, dry larder I would have expected a better performance, but potatoes start to sprout after only a week or two. Disappointed. The only upside is that it will take 5kg of spuds rather than the 3kg specified.

Spuddy Marvellous!by Lara

Potato Bag

I got the Potato Bag a couple of months ago and have been really pleased with it. The potatoes don't sprout nearly as quickly as they used to and currently no green potatoes have been found! I am able to hang the bag up in my pantry and it is an attractive way to store the spuds. As another reviewer mentioned my only amendment would be to give it compartments to separate different varieties, otherwise a great purchase. Wish I had got one earlier!

Potato Bag

This is a "don't buy" product. I've bought potatoes from supermarkets, from farmers' markets from greegrocers - put them in the bag in a cold utlity room - all have sprouted with in a couple of weeks - I've even used a few as seed pots.

Unfortunately I have to say that this bag does not work at all well when kept in the kitchen. I live in the country and cant leave things in the garage because of mice. The potatoes sprout very quickly.

A note from the team: Thanks for your review. We've asked our buying team about this and they advise keeping the potato bag in the coolest area of the house (away from hot ovens, radiators etc). Potatoes should be completely dry before placing in the bag. We'll be in touch to help.

Big enough and smart as well. Does the job its supposed to do. Two weeks later, new potatoes are still fresh and the older type have not aged either. Maybe I should put myself into this potato bag!

Iam very disappointed with this product. The potatoes sprout very quickly and I find they stay fresher left in the bag they were bought in. I would not recommend this.

Not mouse free!by Mrs Roberts

Potato Bag

Good idea, bought with preserving bags to keep onions&potatoes on a high shelf in a closed attached shed. BUT NOTE.... the drawstring at top does not close tightly so mice find a way in & I have had to often throw away potatoes. Not therefore suitable for storing potatoes unless kept in the kitchen (which was not the purpose I bought it for). The onion & potato food preserving bags with a zip do the job better & are better value - no problems with them! Also expensive for what it is - wouldnt recommend.

I read the reviews about the potato bag and decided to buy it. It not only looks lovely but it really does keep potatoes fresh and they last for weeks. Well worth the extra money.

Potato Bag

I'm afraid to say that, although it seems to be the trend to be negative nowadays, I have to tell you that this product does definately work. Potatoes in here take some time to begin sprouting and most importantly do not go green, even after 3 weeks!. The bag itself is well made of a thick material and is quite large. It could perhaps do with a divided compartment inside to separate pototoes bought at different dates. This is money well spent.

Potato Bag

I received this product a couple of weeks ago and put my week old potatoes inside. Today is Sept 30 and they are still as good as the day I bought them. Those people who don't like this bag probably put inside potatoes that were coming to the end of their shelf life. I like it so much I've just ordered one for my friend for Christmas. Yes, I know it's not a very glamorous present, but I am so pleased with it and I know my friend will appreciate it too.

Potato Bag

My husband was very sceptical about this and so was I, given the reviews. We haven't had happy potatoes since moving to a flat where fridge space is limited and the kitchen is very hot and sunny. But I have to say that since using this bag the potatoes stay fresh for ages - no sprouting or mould; amazing.

I agree totally with other reviews written here - this product simply does not work. Potatoes sprout just as quickly as they would without it, yet I store them in the bag in a cool, dark place. The potato bag is really not worth the money.

I am now scouring the website for a bag with a good review as the potatoes still sprout very quickly and I still need a good solution! A waste of money if you want to stop your potatoes sprouting so quickly but an ok place to keep them for a couple of days.

I am very disappointed with this product, it simply does not work. Potatoes go green and begin to sprout far sooner than when I used to keep them in the bottom of a cupboard.

Potato Bag

I bought this potato bag hoping it would extend the life of my potatoes, as I don't use many potatoes each week but need to have some on hand in case I need to cook something for my 3 year old daughter involving potatoes! However, after just a week of having potatoes in this bag, I have just opened the bag to find they've actually if anything grown eyes more quickly than they did when they were kept out of the bag! The bag is kept in a dark cupboard, but the bag has made no difference at all to the longevity of my potatoes. I've just had to throw an entire bag of potatoes away, and I'm very disappointed I've wasted money on this bag.

I can't believe how well this works. We live in Abu Dhabi and buying fresh, firm potatoes is not always easy. So when I find some I like to stock up, but until I found this little gem they didn't last too long. Now when I find decent quality potatoes for baking, I can buy enough for three or four weeks and be sure that they're fresh EVERY time. I even keep it out on the counter, and you'd be surprised how many admiring comments I get. How about making one for onions so that I can have matching set?

Potato Bag

I recently bought this potato bag but I wish I had found it sooner. I went on holiday for three weeks and left the bag nearly full. When I returned and opened the bag the potatoes were as fresh as I had left them and no sign whatever of sprouting - was I impressed!!!! I have to say though I did leave the bag in a cool dark cupboard. I wonder if it would work so well with other vegetables - I shall certainly try it. I would recommend everyone to give the potato bag a try as it certainly saves me money.
