Excellent - get one!”
Very good - one of our best kitchen buys! Cooks evenly. Just right for two portions. I'm pleased that even if you dress the fish with an oil-based sauce, the plastic seems unaffected. If you get it right, the residue that runs off into the bottom container is usable as a sauce for serving. Steamer cleans easily too. keep the outer cardboard wrapper, sellotape it, and use it to keep the whole thing together for storage.

Who designed the 'knob'?”
This steamer does the job well, but who designed the lid? It is very difficult to catch hold of the knob when the steamer is cold, let alone when it is hot. The knob side 'cambers' the wrong way. Still a good cooking aid, but the lid a disappointment.

A note from the team: Thanks for taking the time to write your review and for your feedback about the lid. I'll be sure to pass your comments on as a product improvement suggestion.
Fish cooks so quickly. Looks and tastes great. When the fish tray cracked down one side, I received a new fish steamer 2 days after I had e-mailed customer services about it. Excellent service.

An excellent product”
Used this steamer for the first time and it produced a superbly steamed salmon fillet. No smell (great in my small open-plan flat!) and so quick I barely had time to turn round before it was ready. Highly recommended.

So far so good”
I have been using the latest microwave steamer that replaced my original clear plastic one which developed cracks in the base. The two bottom sections of the latest one do not get as hot and are easier to handle but caution is still required when handling the lid which is of the original design and does get quite hot. As far as cracking is concerned only time will tell.

Bought this when I saw it in the shop, and thought it would be good both as a steamer and also as a shallow casserole dish. Sadly you can't use it without the steaming insert as the lids don't connect without it. Good steamer for fish though, but I don't really have enough space for one-purpose cookware.

microwave fish steamer”
I've bought a few things for the microwave over the years and they tend to languish in the back of the cupboard after one use, but this steamer is great! I cooked four salmon fillets in it, sprinkled with pepper and added a couple of slices of lemon and it was the best fish we've had in a long time. A bonus was that there was no lingering fish smell and it was easy to clean.

Put this on your wish list”
by Meredith Chesterton
This is a fantastic product. As a vegetarian, I haven't used it for fish, but I use it for every vegetable under the sun. Probably the very best results are for new potatoes and my personal favourite, asparagus. They cook perfectly every time, and of course clean up is as easy as - well - steaming veg!

Not for me”
by Mrs Margaret Bruce
I have purchased other polycarbonate products from you and have been very pleased with the results they produced and as so thought I would find this product useful. Unfortunately I cannot agree with the other reviews whether cooking fish or veg the end result was not to my taste and I now cook my fish as before in foil in the oven. My steamer is now waiting to go to the charity shop.

Great - does what it says it will!!”
This is brilliant. I have only just started to cook and eat fish and was initially worried how to cook it (without making the whole house smell). This is definitely the answer. The fish was steamed to perfection with no added fat (a must for some of us!!) and the house did not smell at all - not even the kitchen. I would recommend this to everyone, particularly novices like myself.

Great - and not just for fish!”
I am very pleased with this product - I have found this to be an excellent fish steamer -salmon came out beautifully - but I have also cooked sausages in it (carefully!) and am going to try steaming chicken breasts in it too. So far I have not had any problems with it, it cleans up well in the dishwasher, although extra care must be taken to get the little remaining 'bits' out of the tiny thin slots in the cooking tray. I would recommend this.

Microwave fish steamer”
I was initially very pleased with the steamer, but have found it to be very fragile, The centre tray (slotted) has fractured in several places rendering it almost useless. Since it broke I have found that a folded 'Bounty' (now renamed) kitchen towel absorbs the fat and makes it easier to clean. Since my wife died I live on my own and all aid to minimise cleaning are a boon

A note from the team: I was sorry to hear that your steamer has cracked. We'll be in touch shortly.
We regularly have salmon, which I prefer to cook in one piece. This steamer allows me to do that and produces fantastic results. I always "flash fry" my piece of fish in a hot pan first to seal it and then put it in the steamer to microwave. The fish is wonderfully moist and very tasty. A great product.
