Not as good as they used to be.”
Really disappointed. My mum had one of these about 6 years ago and it was excellent. I assume something has changed as this is no where near the quality. I seem to need a lot of oil to make it non stick

A note from the team: Thanks for taking the time to write your review. I'm sorry that you'd been disappointed with the griddle, I'll be in touch shortly to help.
I have bought many griddles [and all useless] before and I bought this a few months ago. This is a really excellent griddle for breakfast fry-up and for making Chinese breads - 'congyou bing', 'shou zhua bing', 'xian bing' and also Indian breads such as 'paratha', 'chapati'; including Bulgogi - Korean grilled beef. I am so happy with this griddle.

This griddle pan is excellent. Had one before didn't like it. I've cooked breakfasts extra large omelettes, plain or filled.crumpets, welsh cakes. I wouldn't be without it.Safe and not greasy.

Finally found a skillet that doesn't bulge up in the middle when heated. After many very expensive purchases. I've an old cast iron one, but small. This is brilliant for thin pancakes, meat, etc. On induction hob heats up very quickly.

Very Very Excellent”
by Simon Powell
I asked for this for Christmas and my wife was sceptical because of the price. Anyway Santa duly delivered and wife duly converted once she saw how versatile this pan is. Pancakes, bacon, sausages and eggs all brilliantly cooked. I am sure steaks and chops will be no less good. The heat conductivity is spot on. The only word of advice is to take care removing from the oven. The low sides are not conducive for stopping hot oil from spilling over the sides if a cavalier approach to oven removal is adopted! I would handwash to preserve non stick as dishwasher can be too caustic.

Finally, perfect pancakes!”
I've struggled for years to make lowfat pancakes without them sticking to the pan, and have tried various nonstick frying pans without success. A year ago I bought this griddle as a Christmas present for myself, and finally ... perfect pancakes! I use no fat in my wholewheat pancake batter and no oil on the griddle and they never stick. I've also made delicious nonfat vegetarian burgers with great success. One of these days I will use it to make pizza crusts too.

Great Griddle Pan”
by Marilyn Le Breton
I have absolutely no idea why this makes MUCH better pancakes, drop scones & griddle cakes than my frying pan does - but it certainly does. The difference is really notable - even to my teenage sons! Only the teeniest bit of oil is needed, which is just as well as griddle cakes are becoming almost a daily feature here. And it's an absolute dream to clean by hand - a wipe with a damp cloth is all that is needed. Deserving of more than 5 stars & it is definitely up there with my best Lakeland buys :-)

Best ever griddle!!”
by Mrs Flanigan
Don't go past this griddle if you want to make super duper pancakes. I'm a novice pancake maker and bought this griddle hoping that my pancakes would be even a little successful. They were first class due to a very old family recipe and my worth - every - penny griddle. It's a solid piece of equipment that comes with a lifetime guarantee. From the first pancake to the last, they cooked to perfection with not a hint of sticking to the base. Thank you Lakeland for selling a great product.

Worth every penny”
Well I have waited til pancake day to write review although very happy with it up to now. Tonight it has been put though its paces making over 200 pancakes. Only required low heat and very little if none most of time greasing. Pancake after pancake done to perfection (unlike past years the odd mess or burnt one). Excellent is being modest, well worth the money and excellent for batch fried eggs, the works. Highly recommend pancake flipper to go with this. Thank you Lakeland

Very Good Product”
by William King
Got this as a replacement for an old girdle (or griddle, if you prefer) I inherited from my mother about 30 years ago. I was a bit apprehensive about buying a new one thinking, "they don't make them like they used to." I need not have worried. This is a very good replacement; heats up quickly and evenly with a non-stick coating which looks robust. Have to disagree with one reviewer about the handles though - they do get quite hot, but I would have expected this anyway.

Girdle made to Last!”
My 10 year old daughter put this item to test, when she made a batch of pancakes. They turned out perfectly! The best thing is, it sits perfectly on our ceramic hob with no wobbles! It is safe to take off the hob as handles don't get hot. Worth every penny. Think it will still be in use for years to come.

At long last!”
by Elizabeth Simpson
I have been looking for a long time for a 'girdle' that I could use on my induction hob. This one is quite pricey and so was hesitant to spend out so much if it was not going to be useful. My girdle scones are a great success - just as good as my mother's - and that is very hard to beat! A very happy and satisfied customer. Thanks again to Lakeland.

I have been looking for a "girdle" - as we call them in Scotland - to bake my drop scones for months, but could not find one with a smooth surface before I found this one. Though a bit expensive, it is obviously very good quality and probably value for money. I had been using a frying pan before but found it difficult to flip the scones because of the deep sides - [I have arthritis in my hands and elbows] - but this pan is perfect, as are my pancakes now! Thank you.
