I bought this item from Lakeland a while ago and was so impressed with it - and still am - that I'm buying another one just in case something happens to my present one. That's always the case; you find something that works and then can never find a replacement. It is so easy to use; the blade cuts cleanly and the whole lid is removed in one continuous action. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Simply the Best!”
After visiting my Aunty and using her's I went straight home and ordered myself one. Just such a smooth operation and I would recommend everyone to treat themselves to one!

This can opener seems to do the job well, but is bulky, has no way of hanging up for storage, and does not fit in the cutlery drawer. With a galley kitchen, this item has no regular easy reach home. Also, the bulky hollow handles fill with water when being washed, and at next use the water falls out which cannot be too hygenic above a half opened can. It is obviously a sturdy product, so I am going to be stuck with it for a long time.

Terrible Can opener”
A warning this is the worst can opener I have ever used. I bought it because of my terrible arthritis. The lid falls into the can after opening leaving you with the chance of cutting yourself trying to get the lid out of the can. However Lakeland were superb again with there after sales service and looked after me as usual. Don't buy.

Hate it !”

We have been persevering with this can opener since the end of January when I purchased it, but I have now decided to bin in and buy a different one. It is quite large, and cumbersome. My daughter (18) had trouble locking it onto the rim of the can, but my biggest quibble is that it doesn't always cut all the way around.Very disappointed

Does what it says to the can!”

This is very easy to use. Due to arthritic hands I have been unable to use a tin opener for some time and I am so pleased that I no longer have to ask a family member to open cans for me. This is an excellent product.

Does exactly what it should”
Great little gadget, works with very little effort no problems at all.

For years we've been using our trusty can opener but this decided to break so we had to find a replacement. After 2 failed attempts, and after reading the reviews on this, we decided to give this can opener a go. It's one of the easiest can openers to use, even better than our old one. Would definitely recommend.

best ever can opener”
For years I have been trying different can openers and not been able to find one which works well. At last I have found the Oxo Good Grips and can highly recommend it. It glides round the tin with the greatest of ease and I would imagine that it would be ideal for anyone with arthritic hands etc. A joy to use. I cannot understand the foregoing reviews saying bad things about this product. Do we have the same product are they just unlucky. I am over the moon with mine.

Lets me down”
My daughter bought me this for my new kitchen. I have been very disappointed as it 'jumps' and leaves sections of the tin top uncut. This means you have to go round again trying to cut through the remaining pieces. The black Good Grips sleeve also works its way off one handle as you use it. I don't know if I have just been unlucky with this particular one but I had hoped it would be easier to use now I am developing arthritis in my hands!

This is the best can opener I've used in a long time. I have weak wrists and find this enables me to open cans without having to call on my husband!

I still cant find a tin opener to open a tin of tuna. This one just chewed the can so much I had to throw it away. Have tried all except the one touch opener so i'm keeping fingers crossed and going for that one.

Bought this recently. Have had no problems at all with grip or missing out parts of lid. Definitely the best tin opener I have ever owned.

difficult to use”
by Miss Shaw
I have been struggling with this opener for a few months thinking it was just my techique but as I have just read another person has had the same trouble as me. The opener doesn't always bite the tin properly and hardly ever makes it all the way around leaving the lid attached in one place which results in dangerous tugging and pulling to remove it. It is also too bulky and the handles too large to hold together tightly.

Having used so many other can openers, this is my favourite by far. Comfy to handle, and good strong action. Doesn't slip and isn't hard to puncture tin at the beginning.

Not as good as I had expected”
After buying the Good Grips vegetable peeler earlier I expected a bit more from this. Its left the edges quite jagged and didn't finish the cutting of the lid so it needed twisting. Such a shame, bit heavy for some folk too I would think.
