Have just used my first bag and the large loaf from my Panasonic is a very tight fit indeed could do with bags being 2-3 cm shorter and 2-3 cm taller. But will still give 5 stars they do what they are for.

I've found them good for keeping my freshly baked bread fresh, just one complaint, really. They should come with some sort of clip or tie to seal them. I think I might explore some of the other bags that might help keep the loaves fresher longer.

A note from the team: Thanks for your feedback, I'll be sure to pass on your suggestion for a smaller size. Many thanks.
The lovely staff at the Bridgemere shop recommended these to use for my hot loaves from my Panasonic. Was not sure as the holes do look very small and when I place my first loaf in it steamed up instantly - not a problem as when the loaf cooled the moisture disappeared leaving a nice crisp crust. I did find the size of the bag odd and it would be nice to have variable sizes available. Strongly recommend.

Bread Bags - fresh bead”
Just love these bags. We have fresh bread delivered every day and in the heat and humidity of Mumbai, India the bread can go moldy at the end of the day. Really pleased we found these. Highly recommend these.

I am astonished at the negative reviews. Although these are not designed for storage I actually make my own bread, place them in one of these bags and then leave it in the bag whilst it is being used. Sometimes that can be 3 or even 4 days. I place the bagged bread into a bread bin but find the bread is beautiful and cannot understand why the negative responses. Please do not stop selling these. They are magic

Disappointed - but labelling not clear”
by Mrs Hawkins
I recently purchased these bags to store my freshly made bread - once it had cooled! It is not clear on the labelling that it is for fresh bread that has not been cut so I was naturally disappointed that my bread dried out very quickly. However, a note to customer services, with a response back within hours offered a full refund and link to this site. Excellent service but please arrange for the labelling to be clearer as I see there are several comments to this effect on past reviews.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're pleased our customer service colleagues were of some help. Warm loaves can be wrapped in the breathable bread bags straight from the oven or bread maker, and they will let moisture escape to keep the loaves crispy and soft. If you're looking for something to keep your bread fresher for longer once it has cooled our loaf bags (product references 1307 and 6091) are designed for this and may help. We'll pass your comments to our buyers, thank you.
Alternative Use for Bread Bags”
by Mrs Pamela Simpson
I wanted a safe bag for storing my knitted clothes and toys and have found these to be perfect. They keep out dust and dirt It would be good if there was a medium size - for bread as well as for knitted toys, etc!

breathable bread bags”
Excellent product for putting freshly baked bread in from my breadmaker. Lets the loaf cool without the crust turning hard. Unfortunately the size is a bit bizarre, far too long for a smallish loaf, and far too narrow for any average loaf (750 g from a Kenwood breadmaker). I think a review of the sizes for different loaves would be a great advantage.

It was only when I logged on here that I realised I'd been using these all wrong. I had bought them for storing my bread, but now I see that that isn't what they for at all! I don't think the packaging is very clear on this though.

Does exactly what I want it to do!”
I needed something to put my freshly baked bread in to keep them nice and fresh. I wait for them to cool so its easier to put in the bags as the bread can be a bit of a tight squeeze and when its warm its very soft, but no problems so far! Just ordered some more so I don't run out! If you're making bread get the bags!

Can I beg you to change the size?”
I love the way the bread is kept perfectly in these bags but please, please, please - I'm begging you - change the size! I have the Panasonic bread machine which makes wonderful large loaves but they just wont fit into the bag until they've had several slices removed and can go in sideways. This defeats the whole object doesn't it? Something like 16" x 24" would be much more suitable.

I bought these bags in your Edinburgh store. It is not made clear that you cannot leave the bread in the bag after it cools - it dries out very quickly. Not useful if you have to move bread to a Bread Bag, if you remember!!

I must agree with others that these truly are wonderful, especially when giving a loaf away as a gift but it would be a good idea to have tags to seal the bag and a space to write down when the bread was made.

I agree with the other reviewers that the bags are a bit on the large side, and would welcome a choice of sizes, but - they really are brilliant, and not just for bread and cakes: I found out by accident that they are the best thing for keeping carrots fresh in the salad box of the fridge (having tried many other options. Nothing else kept the veg so fresh for so long). Also excellent for the job they are designed for ... especially last-minute bakes which need to be packed up quickly and transported somewhere: no soft sweaty crusts to deal with!

I should have read all the customer reviews before buying Breathable Bread Bags, as like some previous customers I find these bags not at all the right size - too long and not wide enough for the medium size loaf from my bread machine.

Whilst I agree with many of the reviews about the size of the bags I was amazed at how many complained about them not keeping the bread fresh. I have had no problems at all with these bags - a large loaf may last us 2-3 days and it is as fresh on the last day as the first. I put the loaves in the bag (not an large loaf as they do not fit) and when cool I place the bagged loaf in the bread bin. I mainly make wholemeal or seedy bread I wonder if it is the types of bread others are using that is drying out too quickly??? I have only given it 4 stars simply because of the size of the bags.

I love these bags have just ordered some more. I agree smaller sizes would be useful as when I take my mum a small loaf it gets lost in the bag.

not worth it”
by Mrs ANDERSON
I make my own bread without preservatives and it tends to dry more quickly, once cut. I bought these bags a while ago but won`t be buying any more. The bread does not stay fresh at all. I might as well just have put the bread straight into my breadbin.

Excellent idea and have now just purchased yet another batch of these bags. Works well and am amazed that such very small holes do the job.
