Oven Thermometer

I bought this thermometer to replace my old one of a different make, which was accurate but grubby. I liked the large clear dial on it, but it is inaccurate and all I have had since trying to use it are burnt offerings.

Oven Thermometer

I purchased this as I thought my oven may be hotter than it should be as my cupcakes were peaking in the middle. When I used this it read that my oven was 40 degrees higher than what it was set at. A must have for all the bakers out there! Great value too, no need for expensive digital ones.

Oven Thermometer

I purchased this thermometer a couple of weeks ago, slightly alarmed at the adverse reviews. However I can honestly say that it is brilliant. The numbers on my oven knob have never meant much to me being 1 to 9 with no temp. gauge. With the thermometer I now know exactly where I am temperature wise. Thankyou Lakeland, at least one satisfied user!!

Oven Thermometer

My sister and I decided we needed oven thermometers. Lakeland was our first choice, and we found just what we wanted: clear and easy to read, big enough to not be too fiddly, small enough to share the oven shelf. Sadly, although the first couple of uses were OK (though slow to register a temperature) on the third occasion my thermometer refused to register above 200 deg. and then took two days to cool down. It now doesn't work at all. I assumed it was my clumsy handling, but it seems my sister's thermometer also stopped working after a very few uses. Probably just a bad batch, but worrying.

Oven Thermometer

I bake regularly and purchased the thermometer because I felt that my oven's thermometer was not accurate and was extremely pleased with it. However, after about 3 months it became stuck at about 50c. I returned it to the Truro branch who were extremely apologetic and immediately replaced it. Today, 3 weeks later whilst making a Christmas cake the thermometer stuck at 180c far hotter than the oven was set at, I removed it from the oven and it stayed at this temperature for the next 2 hours. I regularly enjoy shopping at Lakeland and have always been extremely pleased with my purchases.

Oven Thermometer

My experience has been similar to many others. The thermometer worked for a few weeks then I noticed it had stuck at 180 after cooling down. Lifting up an putting down freed it up. The problem got worse and now it sticks at around 180 on the way up. Looking at the device, there may be insufficient clearance between the dial's axis and the face, so when everything expands a little due to the heat it all just gets stuck. I end up with oven gloves on tapping it gently to make it move - not ideal when the oven is hot! That's a shame as otherwise the overall design is good.

Oven Thermometer

I purchased this thermometer because my gas oven doesn't indicate when it's reached temperature. This thermom' done its job, we suspected our oven wasn't reaching the desired temp and it wasn't - problem solved which this handy devise in the oven. But sadly it only lasted 2 months and we've had to buy another. I've bought the thermom' again - it’s inexpensive and personally I need it to tell me my oven temperature. It would be great if Lakeland could find a better and more reliable one for us all to buy though. Overall, like my title; it does its job just not for a long period of time.

Oven Thermometer

I purchased this as I was sure my oven was not baking at the correct temperature and the guarantee was expiring within days. I had read the reviews on here prior to purchasing but I had to act fast. It worked the first time I tried it but when I tried to use it today to ensure that my cakes were baking at the correct temperature, the needle didn't move at all. Like others have experienced, it is completely stuck and now only fit for the bin! Given all the negative feedback for this product, I'm surprised that Lakeland are still stocking it. Please Lakeland, find a better product.

Oven Thermometer

I bought this oven thermometer as I knew my oven was hotter than it should be. I put it in my oven when preheated to around 180 degrees celsius and it showed at 150. I turned the oven up to 200 and it still showed 150. I dismissed it as user error for the minute and returned to it a few weeks later to find it now doesn't work at all, the needle stays at 50 degrees no matter how hot it is. Wish I had read the reviews first, now have to make a trip all the way back just to get my money back.
