Won't fit in the AGA”
by Mrs Bell
The actual size of the tin when assembled is wider than the 12" indicated as the slots at the side stick out. It won't therefore fit in the AGA although a 12" tin would. I think you should make this clear on the website. I am afraid it will be going back.

A useful bit of kit”
This is so handy as you can make different sizes all with one tin, and it also collapses so is very easy to store. Highly recommended.

Worth every penny”
Used this for the first time on Sunday to make 4 x 6" Christmas cakes. Worked perfectly so cant understand the bad reviews I read after my purchase which made me apprehensive to use it. Want to use it again - soon...

Where do I store the cake?!”
by Fiona Burton
I love this product and have used it many times, particularly to bake large cakes. However, I always have trouble storing the cake I've made! Do you have an air tight storage container for a 30cm cake?!

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're pleased to hear your baking wonderful cakes in the cake pan. We'd recommend storing your finished cake in the Lakeland Deep Large Square Box [ ref 17628 ]

I'm quite an experienced baker and bought this to make a large tiered fruit wedding cake. In trying to put a 10" cake in the oven, the sides flexed as it was so heavy and lifted off. I had to take it out of the oven, spend another 10 minutes double lining it again and put the mix back in. An hour later I could smell butter and noticed a lot had escaped and pooled in the bottom of the oven. The tin has no adequate seals and is clearly not designed for heavy mixtures. I had to put £15 worth of mixture in the bin and lost two days prep work. Hugely frustrating. It was quickly returned!

What a great item. I have bought the extra dividers as I was making loads of Christmas cakes for church and friends and family. Instead of making one big cake and cutting into various sizes this did the job for me. No leakage of mixture. Bit difficult lining each square but now discover the parchment roll so that is going to be so much quicker. Yes it was expensive but the time saved on cooking times was more than worth it. Thank you

As a freshly qualified baker I bought this tin on the hope it would solve all my square cake size issues. However it just sits in its box, I find it hard to line and it doesn't always cook well depending on the size of the cake, I found myself watching the cake cook! Wish I had bought the normal square tins as I love my other Lakeland cake tins.

Not for Aga owners!!!”
by Lesley Thompson
I bought the Multisize Foldaway cake pan recently and only realised it wouldn't fit in my Aga after my cake was ready to go in the oven. With difficulty I had to decant the mixture into my old baking tin!! I discovered there is a notice on the back of the packaging stating it is not suitable for Aga ovens. This needs to be on the front of the box or made clearer on your advert.

briliant space saver - 4 loose sides & square base”
This tin is fantastic. I have 2 and have used them countless times and never had a problem with them. I always line the tins with parchment as I would have assumed that as they have loose sides, they are not sealed the cake mixture would tend to leak out as other reviewers have commented on. I have used them with the additional dividers that can be purchased separately and this means I now have a full range of rectangular and square cake tins up to 12" square. The space saved by not having to have multiple cake tins is an added bonus as I do a lot of baking. Easy to clean. Excellent

Of limited use”
by Ms Viscardi
I bought this about five years ago for my big fruit cakes, but I've made far less use of it than I expected. What's good: *Cakes can be the same height regardless of size and it's a good height. *It folds flat. What's not so good: *The information with it doesn't give the different cooking temperatures needed for various sizes: the bigger the cake the lower the temp needed. *It's really difficult to line the tin when making smaller cakes and to protect the outside of big ones. *at 12inches square, it only just fits into the oven. It's impossible to centre a 5, 7 or 9 inch cake on the shelf.

Leaky sides and dividers”
by Miss Osborne
I bought this tin due to its space saving potential compared to having lots of tins, but I have been disappointed with its design. The one divider has slits on the bottom which has to be lined to prevent the cake mixture leaking through. The sides are not secure enough and again if you are not careful the mixture can leak underneath. It would have been better if the main sides were fixed in place. I have had poor results with brownies and other tray bakes, i assume due the sides of the tin being too high. I have now had to purchase separate tins to get good results which defeats the object!

Very Nice Product - Just Not Easy To Use”
I really like this multi-size cake tin especially as the new one is deeper than the previous tin. I do struggle sometimes though to work out all the different cooking times when baking the different variations of sizes. And I often have to sit on floor watching through the oven door! But you soon learn with each use. I managed to spoil my last tin somehow with cake release (it stained yellow) so I shall be sticking to using butter or margarine in future.

Almost 5 star!”
I've used this tin a few times now and my cakes alway turn out fine. The only thing that has stopped me giving this a 5th star is that it leaks cake mix out of the edge which is a bit disappointing for something that costs so much. Doesn't stop the cakes turning out perfectly, just a bit messy to work with.

Best Baking Tin around - But NOT Dishwasher safe”
by Mrs Forte
I have a Home Cake Decorating business and this baking tin has been such a help. I wrap thin tin foil around the seperator that has the slits at the bottom to prevent leaks. It is much easier than trying to line it with paper. I use my tin for both fruit cakes and sponges and it works wonderfully. BUT read the box! It says that it is not dishwasher safe. Sadly my S1&2 and D1&2 pieces ended up in the dishwasher. Left them all ugly, but they still work. A weak bit is the S1 and S2 end bits, I find they can bend easily, so just treat them with care. I highly recommend this item.

Fantastic bit of kit”
I bought my first one of these about 30 years ago from the Magazine 'Family Circle' and found it indispensable. Over the years wicked men in my family used the tray to cook pizza and it became a bit grotty looking. Then I saw one in Lakeland and bought a second. I still have both and use them all the time. You need to line them if the mixture is a bit runny, but it still functions brilliantly

Silverwood tins are the best I've used; cake rise well and cook evenly. This tin is a really clever design. You can make any size of cake or up to four smaller ones. They come out perfectly and easily; just lift out the dividers and sides. It's also easy to store. Well worth the expense.

great, apart from the leaks!”
by Miss Mason
I love this tin in theory, and for the most part in practice, but I did find that one side (the cross divider where the slits are along the bottom edge) leaked quite badly. I hate fiddly lining of tins but think I might have to with this one.

I bought the cake tin this week and have successfully made a three tier wedding cake in it. The instructions on the box are excellent, the tin is easy to assemble, to clean, and to pack back into the box. Also, as usual, the staff at Lakeland (in Cardiff) are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I have been buying Lakeland products for years and have never had a problem with anything - this is another really good product!

great spacesaving idea”
I've had this for about a year now. I do a lot of baking and find it great as it takes up very little space but bakes perfect square and rectangular cakes of lots of sizes. I wasn't sure on the baking time for one thing I was doing so I rang up the manufacturer and they were very helpful. I always line it well and have never had any problems.
