I too bought this item to hook over a door and found the doors all too thick. However, the ironing hooks have taken up permanent residence on my wardrobe door (which no longer shuts so it's not a problem). I have just the one hook (it's been re-packaged as a two-pack I see) and it's one of the most useful items, and cheapest, I've bought from Lakeland!
May I suggest that those who find their doors too thick try it out on their wardrobe doors? You could take them down again when the ironing's done, or the washing's dry.

I have bought two sets of these now and use them over the doors with no problems. They are sturdy and secure and fit snug over the door. Another indispensible product from Lakeland!

My late Aunt bought me a set of these about 15 years ago and they are still in place, over the bathroom door and closet door. I use them to hang up my clothes to dry and being short on space, I couldn't manage without them. They still look as good as new. Over the years I've also bought sets for friends who report the same. A real bargain.
