I make stitched textiles and use the iron a lot for bonding fabrics with fusible webbing. It is easy to catch the edge of this or of fine man-made fabrics with the iron and they make a sticky mess. I always have some Hot Iron Cleaner and a towel to hand, because a quick rub of the soleplate with this melts the goo like magic, and I no longer have to worry about fusing the iron to clean garments. Incidentally, I use Baking Parchment Sheets as a protective covering whilst bonding fine fabrics.

I bought this yesterday and clean my iron this morning. It is brilliant and the black marks came off very easily. I recommended this to anyone :-)
