Really useful rings! Certainly helped in making crumpets for sure!
These rings won't fit flat in the base of a standard 24cm frying pan so not much good for me, although I'm sure the product makes 4x identical crumpets if the promo pic is to be believed! Don't be tempted to buy them as egg rings or for making fritters as they both stick to the rings, even with a good greasing.
Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear these haven't met your expectations. You'll be able to return them back to store for a full refund - please don't forget to take your receipt with you.
I made a baker's dozen crumpets (the last one being a pikelet) and they came out perfect and tasty. I used Delia Smith's recipe this time but I am going to try the recipe on the back of the pack for my next lot, I lightly brushed the pan and rings with butter and re-brushed the rings for each batch. I am well pleased with my purchase. I would add a photo if I knew how to do it!
I know these are for making crumpets, but I bought them to make fried eggs in, to fit more eggs in my large frying pan. As the rings are not very heavy, I had some seepage of egg white under the rings. They did clean very easily though. I expect they would work very well with a thicker crumpet batter.......which is what they were inteded for.
