Tagine-cooked Moroccan food has a unique flavour all of its own, characterised by the wonderful aromas and delicate flavours from the spices used. If you've never ventured into Moroccan cooking, then this is a great place to start.
Traditionally dry-roasted to an authentic recipe, Ras-El Hanout is an aromatic blend of fifteen spices and herbs key to Moroccan cooking. Combining rosebud, ginger, all spice, lavender, nutmeg, cloves and more, it can be used as a rub for meat, stirred into rice, cous cous or roasted vegetables, and transforms tagine recipes.
For centuries, North African cuisine has relied on this unusual-looking cooking pot, whose cone-shaped lid ensures steam cools and re-condenses. The result is succulent, tender food full of flavour.
The tagine is made from stoneware and is suitable for use in the oven or on the hob with a heat diffuser.
(Not suitable for ceramic, induction or halogen hobs.)
