3.9 stars out of 5 based on 33 reviews.

With over 100,000 Traditional Tagine's sold, our version of this traditional Moroccan cooking pot ensures steam re-condenses back into the food, helping to achieve authentic, tender dishes that are full of favour.

  • Steam cools in the cone-shaped tagine lid then re-condenses to keep food tender.
  • Handmade from glazed terracotta.
  • Oven safe up to 200°C.
  • Use the tagine on the hob with a heat diffuser.
  • 3 recipes included.

Whether recreating meals enjoyed in far flung places or taking your first foray into Moroccan food, a stoneware tagine helps to achieve an authentic dish. For centuries, North African cuisine has relied upon this unusual-looking cooking pot, whose lid ensures steam cools and re-condenses into the food below, to create meltingly tender casseroles, while the slow cooking develops all those wonderful flavours for a truly exotic taste experience.

Handmade from glazed terracotta, it can be used in the oven (up to 200°C), or on the hob with a heat diffuser placed below it. Please note: the glaze may develop fine lines with use but this will not affect overall performance. (Not suitable for ceramic, induction or halogen hobs.)

  • Spicy Beef & Aubergine Tagine with Squashy Garlic

Bubble, bubble, no toil but nearly trouble by Mr Anderton

4 stars out of 5

Traditional Tagine

My first use of the tagine using a recipe in the instruction book was a success. I used it on the hob with a diffuser and whether this produces a different result to cooking it in the oven I don't know but it produced too much liquid which threatened to bubble over. I would suggest that half the quantities of stock in the recipe be used as, like a slow cooker, the liquid doesn't evaporate and, as the vegetables cook, they create a surfeit of liquid. Also, it was unclear how low a heat we are supposed to use. I used the smallest radiant on the hob on half light and found it worked.

Traditional Tagine

I bought this for my husband as he wanted to try it, and he loves it. We used it a few times now and every meal has been lovely, also a great excuse to get him to cook!

I just had to comment on the excellent service provided by Lakeland when I made my first order, purchasing an excellent Tagine, posted out promptly, well packaged.
The Tagine is a delight to cook with, makes excellent meals and easy to clean. Also looks so attractive in our kitchen. Opened a whole new world of Arabic cuisine ...mmmmmm !
