"Better for baking than roasting" Jessica Stone
23 September 2016
This is plenty sturdy, and I like the look & feel, but looking at the Use & Care guide, I realise it's not everything I want in a roasting tin. The product descriptions says it won't 'warp, scratch, or stain', but the guide tells you to 'use only nylon, wooden, silicone or other coated tools to protect Tin surface', which suggests to me that it CAN be scratched. The upper temp. limit of 232C would prevent me from using my favourite highest-heat method to roast a chicken. Finally, it can't be used under the grill or on the hob, & I want both options for browning or making a quick gravy.
A note from the team
Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry this roaster isn't suitable for your method of roasting but more suited for you to bake. The advice to use only nylon, wooden, silicone or other coated utensils is to protect the Non Stick Coating. Knives and metal utensils will damage the non stick over time and use. Direct heat will also affect the non stick, this is why it's recommended the roaster isn't used on the hob and under the grill. A stainless steel roaster can be used in this way but this wouldn't have the advantage of non stick.
