The peel looks great and the fact it is foldable makes it very easy to keep in a drawer. Problem is, why the holes in the flat element? I cannot flour it, the dough sticks to it and I cannot use it to put the proofed bread in the oven. A pity, I am back to using one of your lovely cookie sheets for the job.

The holes in this peel are punched, leaving a tiny rounding on the side the punches enter and a burr where they come out. I guess the blades are puched from flatstock and subsequently bent for the handle attachement. Ours has been bent so that the burrs are on the top side and it is the burrs which catch the loaves and prevents them sliding well. The burrs and rounding can be felt with a finger. The punched pieces should always be fed into the bender in an orienttation such that the burrs are on the underside of the finished peel. The cost of that care is minimal. 2 stars as potentially good.

I bought this peel after using a wooden peel on a baking course. I have tried using this fro French bread and rolls but due to the holes in the peel the dough sticks to the peel and for the same reason I cant put flour on the peel. It is Ok for getting bread out of the oven but not for putting it in. I would welcome hearing from anyone who has managed to make this work.
