sticky and nastyby yvonne

Cake Release®

It left my tin with a nasty sticky residue, which was very difficult to remove. Will go back to using greasing agent.

Cake Release®

I tried it the first time relying on the vague instructions on pack and my cake stuck in the tin (still tasted fab though) today I opened the bottle up and stirred the contents with a skewer, swished it around the cake pan and crossed my fingers and worked 100% so stir it first - it should look like a thin paste when you do this! And use enough to be able to see its on the pan surface

Cake Release®

I bought a Lakeland 8 dinosaur cake tin and until I got this product my dinosaurs were all 'injured', no more injuries, the cakes now just drop out and the tin is easy to clean. Just brilliant. I cannot recommend Cake Release too highly. Thank you Lakeland

'Wrestling match!!'by PAMELA PARRY

Cake Release®

Great for releasing traybakes. However very disappointed as product, (bought online) was a thick gloop instead of clear as I was led to believe on video. Very hard to squeeze out of bottle. Sorry to say I shall not buy again.

Definitely a must haveby Julye

Cake Release®

My sis bought me some of this with a daisy cake tin from lakeland a couple of years ago, how did I survive without it. It makes cakes just drop out of the fanciest most intricate pans and is so easy to apply. i find it does separate a bit but a good shake before use and storing upside down does the trick.

Cake Release®

Not sure if mine was ok since I could not squeeze out a small amount as it was almost solid inside. No amount of shaking would help and so I had to insert a skewer to get any out. NOT very easy.

A note from the team: Thanks for taking the time to write your review. The consistency of the cake release is more like a paste. If it starts to solidify in the bottom, we recommend running the bottle under a hot tap to release it then shake well. I'll be in touch shortly.

FAB product!by Mrs eaton

This is amazing, used with the silicone fondant fancy cases and they just slid out when cooked! I also used in a silicone heart shaped tin (of which my previous attempt without cake release was disastrous) and again they just popped out perfectly, highly recommended.

Cake Release®

This product is AMAZING!! I literally couldn't believe how easily the cake just slid out of the tin no need to scrape the sides with a knife first or anything! Once you own this you'll never go back to greasing and lining your tins. So quick and easy to use. Like I have read with another review is that it looks quite dark at the bottom and it kinda looks a bit like the bottom has been deep fat fried but the cake went down a treat and it didn't taste burnt or hard. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family and buy again! Thank you lakeland!

Works a treat!by ZarahJayne

Cake Release®

Was making a giant cupcake for my son's Christening using a giant cupcake mould and was having trouble with it coming out clean. I saw this Cake Release here on Lakeland and having read the reviews, I thought I'd give this a try as my last resort and glad I did as it works perfectly every time. This is now a staple item in my baking kit and would not be without it. I would say though that I used a couple of dollops of this per tin, especially tins like the giant cupcake mould so as to make sure you get it in all the intricate grooves and corners. Definitely recommended.

Am I The Only One With A Crispy Bottom?!by Jacqueline

1 stars out of 5

Cake Release®

This product certainly releases well, but I have found with several different types of cakes that there is a tendency for the bottom of the cake to become dark and crispy, especially if there is chocolate or fruit in it. I have tried 2 different ovens, some tried and tested recipes and some new ones, and for the middle to be cooked the base seems crispy and dark. Liked the release element of it, but won't buy again.

Love it, but bottle design needs changingby Angela

4 stars out of 5

Cake Release®

I have been baking for many years, and have used many ways to ensure that cakes come out cleanly. The first time I used it the cake stuck, then I realised I hadn't used enough so next time used 15mls as recommended. Also, you MUST shake well. After that I was hooked! The only problem is getting product out of the bottle once it is getting low. I now put it in the microwave for a few seconds which works well, but I wasn't sure if this was quite safe, encouraging bacterial growth etc. I have read other comments on this and look forward to seeing what improvements you can make in the future.

Disappointingby Mrs Percival

1 stars out of 5

Cake Release®

I took a bottle of this to France but found that in a warmer climate it went rancid long before its 'use by' date. Keeping it in the fridge doesn't work because it's then too solid to use. I've gone back to the traditional methods.

Cake Release - EXCELLENT PROCUCT.by JENNIFER JACKSON

5 stars out of 5

Cake Release®

This is my first time using the 'Cake Release' and all I can say its BRILLIANT. I have also used it to grease my Lasange dish. The cheese sauce did not burn/stick to the dish as it used too. This is such good news to me. I usually had to soak the dish over night, but not this time. So pleased with the results. I am now, a very happy bunny. I spread the cake release mixture with a 1inch paint brush. You may ask why? All the pastry brushes I have ever used, always seem to leave their bristles behind. Thanks Lakeland.

No doughy fingersby Mrs HELEN PACKERMOORE

5 stars out of 5

Cake Release®

Other than using this product for greasing tins I have been using it on dishes that I use for cottage/fish pies, lasagne etc., as it makes washing up easy. Last week I found a new use (by accident) after greasing bread tins I went on to make the dough by hand and realised nothing was clinging to my fingers. Today I tried this method again with the same result - clean hands, no picking annoying bits of dough off. Down side the bottle has to be stored upside down because it becomes so thick after a while, personally I think it would be better sold in a jar.
