  • Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup

From the foothills of the Blue Mountains come these special Wild Hibiscus Flowers which have a remarkable effect when mixed with Champagne or Prosecco. Simply place one of the hand-picked edible flowers in a flute; spoon in some of the crimson syrup; fill with fizz, and wait with bated breath - before your very eyes, the petals will slowly begin to unfurl. As the bubbles settle a delicate bloom will be revealed... and your drink turns pink to boot!

Once the Champers has been quaffed, you can even eat the raspberry and rhubarb flavour flower.

Hints and tips for enjoying your Hibiscus Flowers:

These Hibiscus Flowers are perfect for your champagne and prosecco – the more bubbles, the more dramatic the unfurling effect of the flowers. To see them at their very best, we recommend a wider glass or flute to allow them plenty of space to open.

The sweet syrup can be added to your drink – the more you add, the sweeter (and more pink!) your drink will become. We recommend a taste test to find the right ratio for you. The syrup will thicken your drink slightly, which makes the flower slower to open. For a more a more dramatic opening, add less syrup.

    250g – approx. 11 flowers., (400p per 100g.)

My family's reaction to them has been great - they add fun to sparkling wine and my 4 and 7 year olds love eating them.

    "fun and tasty"

writing this review as can't understand all the negative ones! I am just about to buy my 5th jar as love them. They look really pretty in a glass of fizz and the syrup and flower add a nice sweet taste, if you don't prefer the dry taste of the fizz. One of my quests described the flower as too slimy to eat, but that is to be expected of a flower or fruit in syrup, its a bit like tinned peaches in texture. So I ate theirs for them as too nice to throw away! £10 is a lot of money for about 8 flowers, but as we don't use them every week I feel they are worth the money for special occasions xx

    "Meal time Fun!"

Great way to add a little more zest to a special meal. We put ours in non-alcoholic sparkling juice and it worked very well - just need to remind everyone that the flowers are edible!
