“Great jam funnel - make it dishwasher proof though!
”
by Mrs James
This is a great funnel that is perfect for chutneys in particular, because of its wide neck. It is strong and lightweight, but unfortunately not dishwasher-safe, as I found out to my cost when absent-mindedly clearing up after a mammoth chutney-making session. Good enough to buy another one though - just remember to wash by hand then it will last a lifetime!

“Wonderful, but . . .
”
by Joy
I've had this funnel for a while now and it's fantastic, but . . . Please could you also bring out one with a narrower neck. So many jars now are just slightly too small for the funnel and balancing it on top is a most precarious business.

“Multi Purpose
”
by C Jane
This is one of the most useful things I have bought. Use it for getting powders, pulses, office supplies, beads etc. into containers without spillage. Also great for transferring creamy deserts in to glasses for serving, no smears up the glass and a perfectly centred mouse or fool.

“save on the mess
”
by ann
I cannot believe how much mess this simple idea saves. It has loads of uses, not just jam makingNow all we need is a gadget to cut the peel for marmalade.

“Essential Bird feeder filler
”
by Jacqueline
I highly recommend this easy-fill funnel for filling tubular bird feeders; it gets the job done quickly with minimum mess. In the past, I've given gifts of bird feeding kits and have included one of these jam funnels with each. And yes, it's the handy "feeder" funnel that's been the most gratefully received.

“Don't stop selling these
”
by Elizabeth Moore
The jam funnel is a most useful piece of kit, and Lakeland is the only place that sells it, as I discovered when trying to get one in London in a hurry - nothing in other stores or any of the catering shops - please don't stop selling it! I'd better buy another couple of them just in case.

“Versatile funnel
”
by Julie Bennett
This is a great funnel for jams and pickles - and it's versatile too. I use it for all sorts of things. For pouring ingredients back into the pots/containers and for topping up bottles/jars - lentils- rice- flour- coffee- peppercorns- etc.

Does exactly what its meant to! No mess and no fuss. Only bad thing, put it in the dishwasher and its gone all dull, guess I should have hand washed it.

“No more messy jars
”
by Gemma
Possibly the most useful thing I've ever bought from Lakeland, 8 jars of marmalade without spilling any, and without scalding hands or mess! So simple and yet effective!

Reduces mess, time-wasting, frustration and wasting precious ingredients. Speeds up the jarring process wonderfully. Surprisingly lightweight, which is a bonus.

“Excellent product
”
by Joanne Smith
I used this today for the first time and was thrilled that all of the chutney went in the jars, and none down the sides, over the worktop/my hands etc. A good purchase!

“Dish-washer problems
”
by David
Lakeland products are normally very good, but I also wrecked my jam funnel by putting it in the dishwasher. Stainless steel jam funnels, which you can put in the dishwasher are available from other sources for much the same price, so why buy this one? Come on, Lakeland, what about producing a stainless steel jam funnel?

“Dishwasher problems!
”
by Victoria
Like another reviewer I put the jam funnel in the dishwasher and therefore damaged the non-stick coating. I would like to suggest that something along the lines of "Hand-wash only" could be written or embossed on the side of the funnel. I probably did read the packaging when I bought the funnel, however it has now been a while since I took it out of the packaging and put it in a drawer. By the time I came to use it to make jam I had forgotten the washing instructions and wrongly assumed it could go in the dishwasher. Otherwise a very useful funnel and I will continue to use it without the non-stick coating!

“Makes filling jars so very easy!
”
by Helen
What a fantastic product! As a newbie jam maker, I made two batches without having one of these- jam all over the place! Have just made third batch using this funnel (bought this morning). What a difference- all in the pot, none on the floor/worktop/cooker! Fabulous little funnel. Buy one!

“Don't put it through the dishwasher
”
by Ms Bligh
The principle of the jam funnel is great, but like other reviewers, I find it's too wide for smaller jars. Also, if you put it through the dishwasher - as I did - the lovely non-stick surface goes dark and very odd. The funnel is still usable but the surface is quite curiously unpleasant to touch - high friction - hard to describe! I should of course have read the instructions more carefully. I expect thy said hand wash only - but then if you're designing a jam funnel for the modern day, surely you'd make it dishwasher proof and also the right size for the range of glass jars that are in common use. I'm sure other people, like me, recycle a lot of supermarket jars for their own home-made jams, marmalades and chutneys. I do still use the funnel - and like another reviewer I balance in on top of the smaller jars. I wouldn't want to be without a jam funnel, but if I were to buy another one I'd take a good look at the ones on offer from other suppliers. I believe Tala do one, for example.

A note from the team: The jam funnel isn't dishwasher safe. If our items are dishwasher safe, there will be the following symbol - D in a square box. Along side this you'll find the words "dishwasher safe". This can be found at the bottom of the item description. We're concerned the item didn't quite meet your expectations. We'll be in touch shortly.
