"Not a slow cooker any more"

The Crock-pot I used 30 years ago cooked at the lowest food safe temperatures—about 170-190 F. This Crock-pot cycles at up to 209-215 F on low! Tried one of the recipes (BBQ pulled pork) in their manual using exact specified ingredients and measures, put it in for the minimum time (7 hours). It was on a fast simmer to a rolling boil most of that time. The meat was dry, the sauce caramelised. This pot might be useful to reduce sauces, but it doesn't slow cook. But Lakeland were great—allowed a return and refunded my money without a quibble! Will shop here again, just not for a Crock-pot.
