Italian Design Wooden Clothes Airer
Product number: 25416
Trust the Italians to come up with a far more stylish way to air laundry. Forget wrestling with clumsier conventional clothes airers and switch to an altogether more sophisticated solution with our Italian Design Wooden Clothes Airer, an elegant and easy-to-assemble alternative.
Incredibly discreet when collapsed for storage, this clothes airer is really easy to put up and put away. Simply place your foot on the pedal at the base and pull the wooden handle at the top to reveal the sturdy tripod legs. The 18 wooden arms can each be lifted out individually and dropped into place, creating a robust circle of fanned out hanging bars. Just lift out as many bars as you need.
It’s also ideal for holding the ironing. Three of the bars have special notches to keep coat hangers in place. Each arm holds up to 1kg of laundry – giving it a maximum load of up to 18kg.

I love this airer, so easy to put up and take down holds loads of clothes, compact to store.
I love this airer. It’s so stylish and modern and folds away so it can be left freestanding in the corner of the room when not in use. I bought it to replace a plastic conventional-style airer that was buckling on the joints due to the number of hangers I’ve tried to hang on it. The design of the Italian style airer makes it much easier to evenly position hangers. It's strong enough to hold a good load of washing, whether it is towels or sheets or a full mixed load. Really impressed and worth paying a bit extra for.
Smooth wooden arms, some of which have grooves to hold a hanger in position, a plastic case but well made and feels as if it will be durable. I'm not sure whether it would be my first choice for draping with bedlinen but for clothing, just the job, either to dry, or to air after ironing. The mechanism worked perfectly for me, and I like the fact that it can also be set against a wall, using half the arms and saving a good deal of space. The video was helpful.
I was really looking forward to receiving this in the post. I have to say, for the price I am disappointed. It’s so flimsy, the legs don’t come out cleanly, they don’t seem secure, I keep thinking it’s going to topple over. I’m also surprised that you have to pull each hanging baton out by hand, surely it would all open at once...? I also think the batons should be far more solid, they seem thin and flimsy. Not impressed by the quality and I will be returning.
Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear the clothes airer hasn't worked as well as you'd expected. We're glad we've been able to put things right for you. Our easy up concertina airer product reference 25995 maybe a suitable alternative airer to try.
This clothes airer looks as though it has just done a moon landing when open, and when closed it is very compact to store. The reviewer who commented that the legs fall out when you pick it up as obviously not discovered how to stop this, which is to jiggle it a little to the side so that the clip clicks into place. You can then pick it up very easily. I keep it in my bedroom, where it takes no space when shut, and it is ideal for hanging underpants etc which just slide off when dry. Yes, it is quite expensive, but why not enjoy hanging your laundry?
