“A brilliant idea

This little gadget is worth its weight in gold. Previously it was case of waiting until I had a big pile of shredding and taking it into work. Now I stamp letters as they arrive and throw them straight into the recycling. Bid print needs a couple of goes but still way easier than shredding.

“Good idea but limited use.

I have to agree with a previous reviewer that it often needs more than one (or 2 or 3!) stamps and even then it doesn't work on very bold print. I notice you point this out in your description now. For me it works best on till receipts which are fiddly to shred. A good idea but a bit pricey for its limited use.

“Splendid Idea
”

This really is a great product. I feel safer knowing my documents are recycled safely and without any risk of identity theft. So very simple to use, sometimes you do have to stamp the document twice, but it is very effective. I heartily recommend to everyone.

“Hide IT Good!

I am just buying one of these for my mother as I am so impressed with it. I receive large volumes of junk mail and do not have the time to cut off addresses nor do I want to fill my shredder all the time. This DOES work, yes sometimes it needs a couple of presses or a firm hand, but the times it works make up for the few times it tries its best.

“Does the job
”

This item does what you need it to do. Yes you have to stamp a few times but I'd rather go to my drawer pick out my hide it and stamp my letters a few times than spend longer ripping off addresses or trying to cover it with a black pen. It is definitely a good purchase and makes recycling a lot easier and quicker!

“Doesn't Hide IT!

This product was greatly disappointing - even after stamping over the same area many times we could still clearly make out the writing underneath and in some cases it made the writing visible on the rear of the paper! Ended up tearing off private details before recycling rest of letter!

This is a very useful product. it will obscure personal information quiet well but sometimes it is necessary to stamp over more than once depending on the area involved

“Product : HIDE IN

I read the previous reviews before deciding to purchase this product. Now I've got it and had a chance to stamp away ... I love it! Yes, you may have to stamp a few times, but this is only where the sender has set out your name and address wider to that of other organisations. The smaller and closer together your details on the page the better the product covers them. The product is not at fault - its fab and I'm glad I took the gamble and purchased it.

“Fantanstic

Just received this little gadget and it's one of the best things I have ever bought. It's brilliant. I don't understand the reviews that say it doesn't work as after one stamp the details are completely covered and unreadable. I was a little unsure on whether to purchase as I think it's a little on the dear side but decided to give it a go as I always end up with a huge pile of paper that needs shredding and can't be bothered. So glad I did, it's perfect.

“Disappointing
”

As per other reviews; one or two stamps just doesn't cover the secure details, it takes me at least 10 or so to cover it which really defeats the purpose. I wonder if the ink is good enough?

Delighted with this, exactly what I thought it would be and does exactly what I want it to do. As I always shred personal, private & sensitive data, this is for things of NOT a sensitive nature, and difficult to dispose of like till receipts, shopping delivery notes etc.. Had a lot of fun donching this up and down on all my delivery notes that I'd been saving just for this!

“not as good as expected
”

I agree with the rest of the reviews. I thought this would have been really handy when sorting post to keep near by, stamp out any details and put any unwanted post straight into the recycle bin instead of having to go off and shread it first. Unfortunately you can still see details even after stamping several times so i have had to go back to using the shredder. I thought for the money it would have done a better job

Oh dear. I was so looking forward to this being a useful purchase. Should've got online and checked the reviews first, for I agree with the majority here about this device not living up to Lakeland's usual quality. Have to press several times and I still think I need to shred the address. Sigh. Wish I could return it (bought it at the Brent Cross store).

I have to agree with all the other reviews and wish I too had read them first. I saw this product in a catalogue and my daughter collected one for me along with ink pad refills from the Bluewater store. I expected one press to be enough but have to use it several times to cover the address - shredding is much quicker!

“Not up to Lakeland's usual standard

Although a very good idea saves shredding, you do need to stamp several times to obliterate the address and therefore the ink is not going to last as long. Hoped it would have been better than it is.

“Nice idea, but....

I have been using it for a month or so, and wish I'd read the reviews! I agree that it needs stamping many times before it covers the information, which is annoying. This is partly as the imprint is weak (not like the picture in the catalogue!) and also as the stamp is not flat, you don't get the whole rectangle unless you sit an elephant on it. But as an idea it's great, I hate having to shred, and am happy to recycle more. The idea just needs to be taken and the item made properly.

This works well on regular type face some of the time, but i often find i have to make 2 or 3 imprints to effectively cover something up.

“Disappointed

I bought one for us and one for my Mother. I was so dissapointed with it. It did not hide the printing on forms. You have to use it a lot of times to cover any printing. I don't bother to use it now as it takes too much time. Easier and faster to shred paperwork.

“Obliterated

Bought this product yesterday from the Peterborough Store after reading all the reviews, both good and bad. I had some junk mail so set about obliterating the address, great product and no problems in using it. On average three stamps of the machine were enough. To those who worry about the ink 'washing off' why not put a few drops of permanent black ink onto the pad. GREAT PRODUCT and well up to Lakelands high standard
