Lift & turn tongs by Mr D J Tyerman

5 stars out of 5

Lift & Turn Tongs

I too found these tongs very difficult to compress. The material and construction were good but the curved 'hinge' was too stiff. I reduced the width of the metal along the top third of this curve to about half of the original. I can now compress the tongs easily between forefinger and thumb.
My rating refers to the modified item but not to the original. Your manufacturer may wish to take note of the modification but I fear it is likely to increase the retail price.

A note from the team: Thanks for your review about the tongs. Your suggestion has been noted.

Great tongs! by Richard

Lift & Turn Tongs

These are the only tongs I ever want to use! I tried a pair of those floppy long ones when my old tongs finally died but I threw them away in disgust! These are lovely and firm - you really can grip well with them! OK, I agree with the other customer who said you need to close them up a bit when you first get them, but after you have "adjusted" them, they are simply great!

Good tongs. by Jeremy Stanley

Lift & Turn Tongs

These tongs are easy to use and are perfectly fit for purpose. Not stiff at all.
In fact, in my opinion they are the best on the market and I have tried a few.
Of course they are sprung. That is the whole point of them.
Jeremy Stanley.
