Lakeland heated airer - very disappointingby victoria

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

This is the most disappointing £100 I have ever spent! The airer is rickety, and feels very insubstantial. The main four supports are in the centre of the rows that you drape clothes on, which restricts how you can hang items. Ideally these should be at the corners which would provide more stability and allow a more efficient use of drying space. I found that the drier wasn't any more effective than leaving a non-heated airer in my utility room when the boiler is on. I wanted one of these for so long and I am so very disappointed!

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

Totally in love with this dryer (sad I know). But it is an excellent product. Only one comment I move it as needed it would be helpful if there was a clip or something to hold/ tidy the plug and wire. It is bigger than expected though I think this is because its square, it has the same foot print as my other dryer. Clothes dry overnight, and have in the last few cold days have taken to warming towels and clothes on it before dressing, very nice.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

Now I know this is a fairly pricer clothes airer but IT IS FAB! I really don't know how I would cope if I had to give it up now. My daughter is at school and the washing machine is on every day and I need teh laundry dry in the morning. This really does do it. I got the 3 tier even thogh there is only 1 adult and 1 child in our household as I wanted to ensure I could fit everything on here. It is great. Would definitely recommend :-)

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I purchased this a few weeks on my mothers recommendation, and I have to say after doing quite a few loads of drying with it I am totally unimpressed. I have actually wondered if I'm doing it right!!! I put a washing on it last night around 7pm and left it on all night. I switched it off around 8am and other than the material on the bar the items were still very damp. I really cant see any benefit to this at all, clothes dry just a quickly/slowly as on a normal airer?? I could have saved a hundred quid and all the electricity I have already used!

3 Tier laundry dryerby Anna

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

This is an excellent idea. I was thrilled with mine when it arrived. It was brilliant as an airer but sadly is incredibly unstable. Within a couple of months of having my 3 tier dryer it was leaning right over and is unstable to the point of wondering when it's going to collapse.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I searched for the best heated airer and this one came out tops. It's not the cheapest available but I went for it anyway. I live in Glasgow and when it's not pouring it's probably about too! This has transformed our usual 'Chinese laundry' looking house already. We've usually got our heating on to dry clothes and the tumble drier on all winter (I've just got rid of the tumble - not needed anymore!) We're a family of 5 so there's lots of washing always. I've just ordered the two tier as well just to give added drying space. The key is to not overload it, space the washing out. A must buy!

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I am so pleased with this item. Very useful and doesn't take a lot of space. No more damp items draped over radiators for me. I have a couple of recommendations to improve it though, and perhaps Lakeland would like to pass it onto the manufacturer just in case they are looking to revise / upgrade the item. 1. A timer so that you can put it on for 1 - 12 hours or so. I currently have mine plugged into a socket timer. 2. For it to be either on fully or when one side of the shelves / dryers are not out and fixed in place, for only half the dryer to be on, ideal for smaller washing loads.

Leaning and wobblyby Mrs Barrow

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I purchased this item about nine months ago and have used it regularly since. I do not think it dries clothes as efficiently as some of the other reviews suggest. It definitely works much better when covered although i realise this isn't recommended. However my clothes do not dry overnight as suggested by some. I am also disappointed in the build quality. I found it quite wobbly and it has now developed a distinct lean making it unstable. It isn't a cheap item and I feel the build quality should be addressed.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

Clothes take a long time to dry and I have to use a dehumidifier to cut drying time. I recently had smart meters fitted and found that using the heated airer together with a dehumidifier for a min of 5 hrs to get clothes dry, using a tumble dryer is no more expensive. It's good for airing clothes which haven't quite dried outside but I will go back to using my tumble dryer.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry for your disappointment with the drying time for the airer and are having to use a de-humidifier to speed up the process. Please remember that it is a heated airer and needs more time to get things dry.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I was expecting wonderful things when I bought this due to reviews, but I have used it several times now, each time on for 12 hours, and the only things that dry fully are poly/cotton work shirts and sheets laid single layer. T shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters etc need an extra night in the airing cupboard to dry completely. I have tried putting a sheet over the top, but it doesn't seem to make much difference to be honest. I will use it anyway as on wet days it helps to shorten drying times but needs 24 hrs or so to fully dry. I also think it is very flimsy and not sure it will last long.

Published 10 10 2013

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. I'm sorry the clothes aren't drying as you were expecting. The airer isn't like a radiator and produces a lot of heat. It is a much gentler and slower way of drying but at a lower cost. We'll be in touch shortly to help.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I wanted a tumble dryer, was told no by my partner. A colleague recommended this dryer, great compromise. I used this immediately and it is just amazing, I actually had a non electric airier in the same room and was amazed at the heat generated actually dried those clothes too. I was thinking on buying a two tier too, but now don't need to. Oh and the drying space on the 3 tier is massive....I will be telling my friends.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

Were a family of 5 - and this has been the best 'gadget' purchase I've ever made! Works a treat - I do the washing in the daytime, load it up and turn it on overnight and its all dry by morning! It certainly has stopped washing being draped all over our house on rainy days. Put it in your coldest room in your house and it warms it up a treat whilst drying clothes (bonus). Fabulous should have brought it years ago! I can't fault it to be honest!

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

My tumble drier broke down and I decided to research a more economical option and was impressed with the reviews. On the whole I am pleased BUT the switch is the most annoying I have found on any electrical item, AND it is down at floor level - sadly a no no for my elderly relatives to deal with, which is a shame because this would have been a fantastic solution for them. A better switch placed at the top WITH a timer, so that I didn't have to return to turn it off and this would be my 'can't live without' household item.

I BOUGHT THIS 3 TIER HEATED TOWER AIRER YEARS AGO WHEN LAKELAND FIRST GOT IT. IT IS NOT ONLY ECONOMICAL BUT PRACTICAL TOO,AND WHAT CAN I SAY I WOULD RECOMMEND EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE ONE. I GOT ONE FOR MY SON AND IT WAS LIKED BY ONE AND ALL WHEN HE WAS AT UNIVERSITY. I GOT ONE FOR MY DAUGHTER TOO. I LIKE IT SO MUCH THAT I BOUGHT IT AND POSTED IT TO GERMANY AS A GIFT FOR MY NEPHEW! WELL DONE LAKELAND! CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THIS PRODUCT AND THE VARIOUS OTHERS THAT YOUR SHOP PROVIDES.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

Bought one of these as so fed up with son remembering he needs more uniform Washing and getting dry at ten o clock at night! No more having to have the expense of putting the heating on just to get his work uniform dry. Absolutely love our airier, it got his thick work trousers and t shirts dry over night and has also enabled us to get washing dry during last weeks rain, fab idea and very well designed. Would highly recommend.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I've owned this for over a year and its fab. I live in a small flat with no central heating. I have this in my bathroom (wire trailed out under the door to plug in the adjacent hallway) and I have had no problems with condensation getting into the electrical works. I have not used a cover for this, most things dry within 24 hours, however this also heats up the bathroom so its not cold 1st thing in the morning. I would recommend these to anyone.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I bought this recently after a friend's recommendation and reviews. Their experience was that after drying a whole load on the rack for about 3+ hours (on timer) and leaving over night, you should have a dry load in the morning. However, we have tried ours and the clothes are still damp after leaving it on for about the same time and over night. I found the heating rack did not provide as much heat. Dissapointed with this purchase but it is a hassle to return/exchange as we do not have a car.

A note from the team: We're sorry to hear you've been disappointed with the airer. To aid drying we recommend layering clothes over the bars, but it is an airer and won't dry as quickly as a tumble dryer. The airer is a much gentler heat that whilst protecting the fibres of your clothes and be cost effective, can take a little longer to dry on heavier items which may not suit your needs for a speedy drying solution. We'll be in touch to help.

Winter wonderby Lesley

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I bought this airer last autumn, and it was constantly in use. Like a previous reviewer I have found that your clothes dry a lot quicker if you cover it but took on board the Lakeland comments about condensation etc, and a cover not being recommended. I have solved this by making a cover out of sheeting. The fabric is lightweight and porous enough for any rising steam from the airer to evaporate through the cover rather than condense, but still traps sufficient heat around the clothes to speed up the drying process.

So handy in winterby Ms CUNNINGHAM

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

This drier is so handy in winter especially if you life in a flat with no balcony as we do. I find, when covered, it dries clothes overnight. As recommended in some of the reviews, I tend to layer my clothes flat on the drier and I find this works better than hanging them on the slats. It does feel a bit wobbly but so far as stood the test of time. Have recommended it to a number of my friends.
