Good purchase for winter dryingby Karen

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I realise that £90 is a bit pricey for a dryer, but faced with months of cold and wet weather I decided it was this or weeks of damp washing hanging around! I am very glad that I made the decision to purchase. The airer is easy to use and heats quickly and evenly. It is great for sheets and duvet covers (particularly good for these). Definitely cuts drying time and is a good alternative to the expensive use of the tumble dryer. A worthwhile investment purchase.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I highly recommend the 3 tier heated airer. I don't have room for a tumble dryer and struggle with drying clothes, especially in winter. The heated airer works great and fits a whole load of washing. I put it on in morning and by evening everything is completely dry. It is big but does fold down to make it easy to store. I would recommend getting the mesh shelves to go with it, I put underwear and socks on these to give me more room on main airer.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

Having already seen the 3 tier electric airer, I bought one this week. It was well packed and easy to carry - albeit a little large to fit in the car - go for home delivery! It easily held a full machine load, would hold at least double the quantity. The washing was a mix of jumpers and towels, and was dry really quickly. I am delighted with this purchase and have already recommended it !

Brilliant Airerby Gail

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

For 7 people this airer copes well. I am doing between 1 and 3 wash loads a day and tumble only sheets and towels. It is in an unheated garage with a dehumidifier beside it and I would recommend this to everyone. Everything I put on it dries in 12 hrs even thick denim and school kilts (hanger on the top rail and the skirt hangs down between the lower rails.) You must remember that when you are drying clothes the water must go somewhere. I empty the dehumidifier about once a day, and it usually has a couple of litres in it. I have a rail above the airer which I hang shirts, blazers etc on.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

After spending years having clothes constantly on the radiators throughout the winter months I finally invested in one of these airers. I'm so glad I did, my foster son has special needs and gets through so many changes of clothes each day. At least one of these will be his school uniform which cannot be tumble dried. Thanks to this Airer I have now finally caught up with my washing. I have read some of the negative reviews and just wanted to state this isn't a tumble dryer yes it takes time to dry your clothes but your radiators are free to keep your home warm.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We'd recommend switching the rocker switch off after each use or alternatively using a timer switch from the plug socket if you are wanting use the airer at specific times.

I have had my electric airer from Lakeland for many years and I reckon its one of the best things I have bought. I would highly recommend this to anyone struggling to get washing dry during the winter months.

Bit of a let down sadlyby Margaret

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

Had high hopes but the old basic airer was far more efficient than this. The whole airer is fragile and wobbly & looks ready to collapse :( also the space between rows is limited so wet touches wet except on flimsiest items. As for the drying capapbilities, have tried with all types of items and it might speed up drying if you have it on for at least 8 hrs & only then if you keep changing the positions of the hanging items and using on tent principle creates so much condensations its not healthy. One of my worst Lakeland buys - pretty expensive & useless sadly!!

A note from the team: We're sorry to hear you've been disappointed with this product. To aid drying we recommend layering clothes over the bars, but it is an airer and won't dry as quickly as a tumble dryer. The airer is a much gentler heat which whilst protecting the fibres of your clothes and be cost effective at 6p per hour, can take a little longer to dry on heavier items which may not suit your needs for a speedy drying solution. We'll be in touch soon to help.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

If you compare this drier to a tumble drier you will be disappointed. Instead, compare it to drying on an ordinary airer. I find that, even loaded with duvet covers or bath towels, it will dry them in 24 hours. I also put a couple of non-heated airers next to the heated airer. With the thicker things on the heated airer, and the thinner things on the standard airers, I can get 2 or 3 loads dry in 24 hours or less. It also heats the bedroom. To overcome the dampness I put it near a window which is open a little way. I agree that the flex should be longer, so only 4 stars not 5

Works better when covered.....by S

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I brought my airer just before Christmas....its taken me quite a while to get used to using it - with such good reviews I decided to reserve judgement until I'd had it a while. Its bigger than expected (yes, I know the measurements are on there but I didn't check!!) but it does take a full load of washing. Overall I am impressed with it, the instructions that come with it say its a heated towel airer and to be honest aren't that helpful, I found reading the reviews on here a better way to find out about it. Many of the reviews say cover the airer with a sheet and it works better and even Lakeland say this, its so true!!! it works 10 times better when its covered. This begs the question why haven't Lakeland started selling a cover for it? 4 stars Lakeland, start to sell a cover for it and you can have 5!!!

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. Our buying team have been busy looking into whether you can cover the heated airer. We've tested various types of cover and we're pleased to say we've found one suitable to use with the airer. Thanks for your feedback.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I have found this airer to be a good purchase. It is a little flimsy, due to its plastic components, so have chosen to leave it set up. Unlike a conventional airer, effective drying is achieved when the clothes are in direct contact with the metal rails. Advice from other reviewers suggesting covering the airer with a sheet is very useful. It speeds drying immensely. Lakeland's response that using a cover may cause condensation and result in damp floors is not my experience. I use a king size cotton bed sheet, which keeps the heat in and allows moisture out, increasing efficiency!

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

Have just received the dryer as a Christmas gift from my dad as he was fed up of me complaining my house looked like widow Twankies with washing drying everywhere. BUT... Am I doIng something wrong as the bars do not heat up very warm at all and my washing dries quicker on my old dryer in the bathroom ( that cost £10) then by using the electric dryer. What am I doing wrong?? Please advise.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I bought my 3 tier heated airer after a recommendation from a friend and have never looked back. It is so usefull jumper, jeans and more all dry quickly. I usually dry jumpers and jeans flat and smalls on the lower level. If i have a lot of shirts i hang them on a 3 arm Hanging rail and place it next to heated airer it's so versatile I love it. I also cover mine if I want to speed up drying and I have never had problems with condensation! But then I always spin my washing as dry as possible anyway and only cover it with a light sheet. The original dry soon airers came with a zip up pod

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

My son and daughter in law had just had their first baby and were drowning under a sea of wet laundry. A tumble drier was too expensive to run and they had little space in a small house so I suggested I buy this for them. Within 24 hours of delivery, they were sending me messages of delight and gratitude as their laundry problems had been solved. This dries clothes and bedding in short order and will be used for many years to come. A perfect New Baby Gift from Gran. We 'Old Wives' do know best as long time Lakeland customers.

Very Disappointedby Ms Croft

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

My trusted tumble dryer broke so I thought this would be an excellent alternative. How disappointed was I? Very. It takes over 12 hours to get anything dry - a tumble dryer would take 2 max - the less than 5p an hour is nonsense - that's based on 2011 prices which we all know have risen substantially - of course that's in tiny writing on the box which you see when you get home. I had to travel 80 miles round trip to get it. I now have to buy a tumble dryer as well. Stay clear is my advice.

Published 09 12 2014

A note from the team: We're sorry the clothes aren't drying as you were expecting. The airer isn't like a tumble dryer as it's a much gentler and slower way of drying but at a lower cost. The costing shown is based on average prices from 2011 but of course this will still depend on your personal contract and suppliers tariff. We do appreciate tumble dryers will dry clothing at a higher temperature much quicker but for those who don't have a tumble dryer the airer is a good alternative and ideal in airing delicate items. We'll be in touch shortly to help.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

One of the best products we have ever bought. Highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't like using machine dryers, or leaving clothes drying over radiators for days at a time. This drys the clothes more or less overnight + heats the room too, so a double bonus. One quick tip - we've found that hanging the clothes between the bars doesn't work as well as lying them down flat. So we layer the clothes on top of each other flat, and they still get dried. Not cheap but definitely worth every penny in my book.

Dry-Soon 3-Tier Heated Tower Airer

I bought this on the strength of others' reviews and I haven't been disappointed. It is not a tumble drier - so if that's what you're expecting, don't buy it - but it is an effective airer if you embrace its few idiosyncrasies. I've found it best to dry clothes flat and spread them along the bars, to put the wettest things on the top shelves, and for efficient drying (i.e. overnight), use it in a room with a bit of residual heat, not an unheated spare room or garage. It's also excellent for drying out rain soaked trousers quickly! Only complaint - please move the on switch higher up.
