"Excellent"

I wanted this tin for baking mini vol au vents so they would all stand up straight. It's perfect for this. I'm keen to try the chocolate and raspberry bites recipe too. I may pre cut some parchment and take the time to line the tin before i attempt sponge.

"Excellent Product"

I bought this to batch-bake for a Sports Relief Coffee Morning but also purchased a small angled, pointed artist's palette knife from an Art Shop to help level the mix and run round the outside of the baked cakes before turning out - it worked a treat. I also used Cake Release to grease. I used the recipes for the cakes baked in the 12-hole pan and they worked well - Easter Fruit Cakes, Ginger, Victoria, Chocolate and Coffee sponges. For anyone who has had problems turning out cakes from this tin, please don't give up, buy the palette knife and Cake Release and have another go.

"The first Lakeland Product that I didn't love.."

The theory of this tin is fabulous but this was purchased to replace the 12 individual cake tin which started to delaminate and was discontinued. Unfortunately very light sponges do not want to come out of the tin, they are too fiddly to line, you cannot use a knife to loosen them, a majority of the 20 were not useable. I would also question how you could cut the sponges into 3 layers too. I will be returning this for a refund - but if you are thinking of bringing back the 12 individual cake tin, please put my name down for one!

Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. I'm sorry that you'd been disappointed with the size of these tins and the results you'd had. We do sell the Lakeland 12 hole mini sandwich tin, ref 70171, this may be more suitable. I'll be in touch shortly.

"Not worth the money!"

Having read the reviews and the advice given by Lakeland, I brought this tin and a bottle of cake release. Out of the 20 apple sponges, only 8 were able to be removed from the tin in any sort of presentable state. Not very impressed with this, especially at the price

I bought the mini bites dessert tin along with the larger 12 cake version. I wanted to make mini victoria sponges for my grandsons christening, I have used the mini bites tin, there has not been an issue with removing the cakes but I am disappointed to find they are extremely domed. Perhaps the tins are too small to use for sponges ?
