dreadful results” by maureen
I was thrilled when I spotted this in my catalogue. Well, 9 eggs later, and I discovered that there was a compromise. I either had a firm white and a solid yolk, or a clear jelly like white (most of which drained away with the water) and an isolated soft yolk. I have changed the cooking time, the size of the eggs, the temperature of the water and nothing has enabled me to produce a poached egg anything like the one in the picture. I have abandoned any hope of a perfect poached egg.
A note from the team: Thanks for your feedback and taking the time to speak to me on the phone. I'm sorry that you'd been disappointed with the poacher. The instructions are a guideline only - To get the desired results it may require a little trial and error depending on size of egg, wattage of microwave and length of time cooked. I'll be in touch shortly to help.
Glad I didn't buy two” by Alice
In spite of covering egg with water (hard to tell if I had), then cooking it for more than the required time, it still didn't look cooked. So tipped water out and cooked it some more... too fiddly and not worth the money.

Back to the drawing board” by David
Thought I had struck gold with this product a perfect poached egg from a microwave, not to be I'm afraid I was so confident I bought 2 from the Handforth Store. 18 eggs later and still found it impossible to get anywhere near a perfect egg. To achieve a firm white you end up with a hard yoke. If you set for a runny yoke then the white is totally under cooked and when you try to drain the water off the holes of the strainer become blocked with undercooked egg white. Even tried the scientific route by weighing the eggs and adjusting cooking times. Two for the back of the kitchen drawer I'm afraid.
