Microwave Egg Poacher

At last I've found a microwave poacher that works. I've tried most of the others and almost gave up. This one works well. Use warm water rather than cold, I butter the bottom and don't pierce the yolk

Microwave Egg Poacher

These take some getting used to but once solved are brilliant. First trick is to put hot or boiling water into the pot just before microwaving rather than cold. Then 30 to 50 seconds should be enough based on size of Egg (30 Medium, 50 Large). I also use the microwave plate from Lakeland to stand the pots on to make them easier to take in and out. So pop pot onto plate, crack egg into pot, pour a little water from a kettle recently boiled, close lid, pop into microwave 40 secs, take out hold and drain, open, loosen with knife if necessary, slip onto warm buttered toast - Yum yum.

Microwave Egg Poacher

I am very pleased with the two of these that I bought. All other microwave poachers have always fallen short of my expectations. The packaging instructions with these poachers indicate that water (not hot) is added to an egg already placed in the poacher, then placing it in the microwave oven. My preparation tip would be to boil water in a kettle, pour that water into the poacher, add the egg to that boiled water then put it in the microwave= better, quicker, results.
