This cake lifter works really well for sliding a cake off its baking sheet and on to the cooling rack. I've also found it ideal for transferring bread dough onto my baking stone in the oven. I just sprinkle rye flour on the bottom of the loaf (in its proving basket) and flip it on to the cake lifter. It then slides easily onto the hot stone in the oven.
