Mezzaluna Half Moon Herb Chopper and Board Set
Product number: 18114
The quick and easy way to finely chop herbs ready for garnishing or adding to your favourite dishes, this Mezzaluna Blade and Chopping Board is designed to make preparing herbs as effortless as possible.
Coming from the Italian for half-moon, the double-handled Mezzaluna blade is curved, allowing you to simply rock it on the herbs, chopping them with every action. The two bulbous handles are made from non-slip plastic and designed to ergonomically sit comfortably in the hand. The concaved chopping board helps you rock, while also keeping the herbs in one place for efficient chopping.
Ideal for adding the flavour of fresh herbs to your cooking, this Mezzaluna and Chopping Board set is the ideal accessory for any passionate home cook who wants to use fresh herbs.
Board 20cm sq. x 2cm H. (8" x ¾").

I bought this to replace a Mezzaluna that bought 10+ years ago from another retailer. (The knife is still fine, but the wooden chopping board is about to split.) The problem is the knife. Whatever your chopping ends up between the two blades, so you spend your time just trying to clear this out. Chopping takes twice as long as with one blade. Also you can’t wash the knife by hand as you end up trying to clean inbetween two blades; not good unless you want to bring some Halloween style fingers to your kitchen. I’ll stick with my old knife and use the new board. Sorry Lakeland for my first bad review.
You could try clearing the food with a brush if necessary, and cleaning by rinsing under a tap. As you've found anything bladed needs to be treated with care.
I bought this chopper for one purpose... for my husband to chop up his seriously hot Carolina Reaper & Dorset Naga chillies prior to freezing. It will be used for this purpose alone (for obvious reasons). It is working very well, but for the initial "cuts" the bits get stuck between the two blades so need to be pushed through with a knife. Not really a problem, as the time saved by having the twin blades is worth it. I will try to send Lakeland a little video I just took, showing it in action :-)
Love this chopper and board. Looks great and does the job perfectly
Our old chopper was just an old little metal one so I looked into buying a replacement. When good reviews were coming up for this type I decided to buy one. Have only used it the once but it chopped our homegrown mint up very finely so very pleased and much easier than our old one and not a bad price either.
