Sage™ Barista Express™
Perfection is possible… It takes a lot for an electrical appliance to stop us in our tracks, after all, hundreds have passed through our test kitchen over the years, but the entire Sage range did just that! We lost count of the ‘wows’ around the room as our Buyer, Carly, took each one through its paces and, as soon as we heard that the ultimate food thinker, Heston Blumenthal, was involved in the testing and production, we knew they would be something really special.
Heston wouldn’t put his name to anything less than perfection, and the combination of Sage’s design know-how and attention to detail means that with these innovative stainless steel appliances perfection is possible. Brand new to the UK, these high spec appliances are very simple to use with straight-forward controls and are incredibly impressive to see in action. The instructions and recipes come with hints and tips from Heston to help you make the most of your machine.
Heston says that almost every ingredient tastes better when fresh, and coffee is no exception. The natural oils that give espressos and cappuccinos their rich flavour quickly degrade once the coffee bean is ground, so the Barista Express grinds fresh coffee straight into the filter for you, in exactly the right amount, then extracts the full, fresh flavour. With an expert array of features, carefully engineered for the most aromatic coffee you can make at home, it’s no wonder Wendy said it was the best coffee she’d ever had! Fully automated with super easy controls, it’s nearly impossible to make a bad cup of coffee with this intelligent, 15 bar pressure machine.
- Grinds, doses and extracts – from whole bean to flavourful espresso in under a minute.
- 250g bean hopper holds enough for 25 shots of espresso and has an integrated stainless steel conical burr grinder. Pre-ground beans can also be used.

SAGE COFFEE MACHINE” by Christine
Bit pricey BUT absolutely LOVE this product! You can't produce multiple cups of coffee quickly, but it makes beautiful cappucinos, lattes, whatever! We bought this with money given to us for our wedding this year and absolutely love it!
Wonderful machine! Don't hesitate :)” by Ben Woodbridge
I've waited through 6 months of ownership to write this review.. and it's simply superb. I had spent a couple of months looking at what felt like every sub £1k coffee machine on the market, I've had various 'pod' and espresso machines in the past. The level of control this one gives, to vary the grind and dose for different beans, the quality of construction (superb!), totally consistent performance, easy clean, ability to use other coffee grounds without having to empty the bean hopper, and above all a blinding cup of coffee - I wouldn't part with this for the world! Brilliant.
Consumer winner” by jeff
this machine is actually a Breville (like all the other 'Sage' appliances. I have it in New Zealand and bought it because it won the NZ Consumer magazine test (our version of Which). Makes great coffee but you do have to adjust the grind / tamping / amount of coffee as the beans get older or it extracts a bit too quickly. This is easy to do and the little dial indicator tells you whether you're doing it right - just read the manual! Very quick to use unlike the dual boiler model. Recommended.
