Bought this because it was a Which? best buy. It took me several attempts to get a good loaf - but I got there. So I'm happy with the machine. I've still got to experiment with the other settings, but it does produce good bread. I do find the electronic panel unresponsive. Several other people have mention this and I thought it was just me! I found that the tubs of yeast go off very quickly and create nasty loaves. I use the sachets now. Lakeland should think about supplying yeast in 1½ teaspoon sachets because the only ones I can find in the supermarket are more than that.
Thank you for your feedback. We've passed your suggestion on to our buying team.

I love this machine. I use the basic programme and if possible to keep the loaf for 2-3 days it is as soft as when it was made. I wouldn't buy shop bread again. I make a fresh when every other day well night so I got a new one in the morning.

I have had this machine for 3 weeks and have tried basic white bread, wholemeal, french bread using the recipes provided, which produced poor loaves. I've used the full bread programme, the dough mode and bake. None produced a loaf as good as my old panasonic. Every time I stuck faithfully to instructions. In desperation I tried the recipes from the panasonic and these produced one decent white loaf. Very disappointed. Wish I'd gone for panasonic's SD 2512. This lakeland machine looks identical to another brand selling for just over half the price on line.
We're sorry to hear you've been disappointed with this product and will be in touch soon.

Just made my first loaf, very pleased with result. Only gripe is that the recipe book doesn't give the recipe for brioche, which was the main selling point for me.
Thank you for placing your review. We're delighted to hear your first loaf turned out well and we've passed your comments on to our buying team.

I was unsure which make and model to get.The more reviews I read the more confused I was. In the end chose this (the Lakeland guarantee swung it). The machine is very good with excellent results. It says makes 2 sizes but scaling down a recipe in order to make a 500g loaf works perfectly on the standard settings. Buttons can be idiosynchratic but they do work. Easy to clean. Paddle stays in 50% of time but removal tool works. However I use the dough setting and lift out and shape and then cook in oven and it looks handmade. Only takes a few minutes to do!. Bread mixes work well.

The digital scales are fantastic but the bread maker has been very disappointing. I previously had a Panasonic and the results were superb. I have followed the directions carefully and used both bread mixes and various recipes but the results are variable and not as good as I would have liked. The press button controls are very stiff, maybe I have been unlucky with my machine but it will probably not be used again. Back to making bread by hand.
Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback, I'm sorry that you'd had disappointing results, I'll be in touch shortly.

We have used this bread machine for just over two years. It comes with some nice sample recipes but takes a bit of trial and error to adapt other recipes, once you get it right the machine bakes consistently. The buttons are touch sensitive and take some getting used to as there is no positive feedback. However the scales are badly designed, the screen has a separate cover which flour can get behind meaning you have to be very careful or the screen will become gradually less readable. The platform design also makes them hard to clean should you have an inevitable spill while baking with kids.

This is a brilliant bread maker love using it produces great loaves, love experimenting with the different flavours my favourite at the moment is walnut and ale great for the cheeseboard, love the integrated scales you always know where they are, and the baguette tins are excellent, once you have tasted bread from this machine you will never buy shop bought again. Would love to get a spare paddle and bread pan, because I use it so much and you have the fantastic Lakeland guarantee
Thank you for placing your review. We're pleased to hear how much you enjoy the bread maker and we'll be in touch to shortly to help.

First loaf came out perfectly, the shape is squeamish rather than a long loaf. If you ensure that you follow the first time use instructions and don't be too heavy handed with the buttons, this machine works beautifully. Wish I could upload a picture of the first loaf to show you.

So far I have made Basic Brown, rapid white and baguettes all good. The bread container is much lighter than the equivalent in my old panasonic and the non-stick coating does not look as good with rivets visible. I wonder if it will last as long as my old one. The buttons. Several reviewers have remarked that they don't work well They work fine, BUT do not press them like the manual says, TAP them gently they are very sensitive and just a light tap works well. The one exception is the Start/Stop button which needs a gentle press and hold for 2 secs

i bought this bread maker six days ago to replace an old one of a different make it was recermended by which as there best buy have made two white and four wholemeal loafs and thrown four away so I am not too impressed with it the machine itself is very nice to look at and the scales are very good but the recipes don't seem to work so very disappointed and wish I had gone with the make that was next to it as didn't have any problems with my old one. Such a shame as was looking forward to some fresh bread in the mornings.so into the cubbard it goes. Carol. Derbyshire

Bought this as a replacement for another Bread Maker - produces lovely bread, is easy to use, and I like the scales and baguette tray. Only two slight niggles - the cable length is very short; I've had to rearrange my worktop! Also surprised that the Instruction Book only gives the total time for the programmes, no detail of length of various processes as I've had with other makes. Just makes it a little more difficult to add ingredients by hand at, say, the second knead stage.

I'm currently living in Kenya and the local bread varies from sweet to rot your teeth sweet! Tried to get an online store to send me a bread maker but no joy - Lakeland to the rescue - with a little help from the BFPO service! So far made the baguettes - great will be making lots more. Made the basic loaf with 1 egg and milk rather than water and milk powder, it turned out fantastic and I've just had the best bacon sandwich since arriving in Kenya last June. Fantastic product - any chance of a round roll alternative to the baguette trays?
Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. I'll be sure to pass on your suggestion of a bun/roll tray. Many thanks.

This machine is good and I love using it. Problem is the start/stop button doesn't work very well and it doesn't respond to a simple push. Sometimes it takes me about a minute to get the machine to turn on. Annoying. Is there something wrong with it I wonder?
Thanks for placing your review. To START a programme, press the START/STOP button for approx. 2 seconds. A short beep will be heard and the two dots in the time display begin to flash. The programme will start. To STOP a programme, press the START/STOP button for approx. 2 seconds until a beep confirms that the programme has been switched off.We hope that helps.

I have had a Bread Machine for over 15 years and decided to up-grade. As I couldn't wait for delivery I bought in-store yesterday and made my first loaf on getting the machine home. It is as simple as my old machine, which I have to say there is nothing wrong with it but doesn't match my Kitchen anymore!!! The result was the best loaf........ Can't wait to try other recipes. As always I am please with yet another purchase from Lakeland....... Thank You!!

Made most of the recipes from the manual & a few from the Internet & most turned out perfect. Only issue I have with it is the French bread. It just sinks or comes out uncooked. Are there typos on the recipe Lakeland? The only difference in quantities between the 700 & 1000g loaf is the water & the flour. Can this be right? I would definitely recommend, but I do think the recipes need checked.
Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry that the French Bread recipe is not working for you and have checked the other recipes to find that there is little if any difference between the 700gm and 1000gm loaf recipes for sugar, yeast or salt ingredients.

This machine makes perfect bread every time. I should try to experiment a little more as I have only been using the recipe for 700g loaves. One of the best things is the time delay, to have fresh bread waiting for you in the morning. Included is an electronic scale which is very useful. The only drawback is the sometimes delayed response to the start stop button on the front panel, but you get used to it. To sum up, this is a good machine that won't disappoint, but remember to close the kitchen door for the noise.

A lovely breadmaker, but I missed one thing and nearly returned it: the start/stop button is not instant - you need to press and hold for a few seconds for it to activate. It seemed that we had a faulty model, so I phoned customer service to discuss an exchange, but the lady referred to this and so I tried it and it is fine. This was definitely customer error! I suspect others have fallen foul of this too, since they get quite a few returns with supposed faulty button.

After a false start (my fault) my first proper loaf turned out very well indeed. It looks lovely (and you can't really tell it's a bread maker loaf unless you turn it upside down and spot the tell-tale hole where the dough hook was. N.B this is with a 700g loaf.) and tastes as good as it looks. My one gripe is that the buttons are rather unresponsive. Also, for those who tend to not read instruction booklets carefully, because it looks obvious how things will work, you need to hold the start button down for a couple of seconds. No amount of (frustrated) jabbing will work!
