Sharpened using the same technique as the Samurai warriors used for their legendary blades, this beautiful serrated blade won’t slip off the crust but slice straight through every time, keeping delicate fingers and precious countertops safe.

Sharpened using the same techniques as those used to make Samurai swords, Damascus knives undergo a process of lamination where the super-hard carbon steel core is layered with 67 coatings of stainless steel for a distinctive blade that is strong yet flexible with a superior cutting edge.
This multi-layering technique is believed to have been discovered in Damascus around 300BC – hence the name – eventually making its way east to be perfected by Japanese sword-smiths where the blade’s finish was aptly named ‘kasumi-nagashi’ or ‘floating mist’.
Full tang with an ice-tempered blade, each beautifully balanced knife also has a comfortable riveted wooden handle to give you excellent precision and control.

This is a really well thought out bread knife, and the blade seems to glide through bread, rather than the sawing feeling that you often get (well, that was my old, much loved bread knife anyhow). It's odd because it almost feels like it is blunt, but it's not - just a different design and a lot less effort on a 3 day old sourdough loaf! The slight angle on the front of the blade is also helpful, as it slices neatly to the end, rather than just dragging the end of a bread knife through. A good purchase.
This is the most wonderful knife, and will deal with any type of bread effortlessly. Don't baulk at the price, Damascus steel is the best and will last several lifetimes.

This is a great knife and slices through bread with no effort and glides through my favourite bread - sour dough. I would thoroughly recommend this bread knife with no hesitation.
