“Expensive but excellent

Invaluable for the winter. You can leave bread etc to prove predictably, without worrying about draughts, radiator getting too hot, someone leaving airing cupboard door open, and also without oiling bags etc. Have not tried for yoghurt or chocolate yet.

Thank you Lakeland for this product! It does exactly what supposed to do, if you bake bread especially artesian bread, you will love it! ..and the folding it is pure genius, you can store it inside any cupboard. It is well worth the money.

“Would be great if accurate

I was pleased when I saw this in Lakeland having contacted the manufacturer in the USA last year asking if they intended to bring it to market in the UK - they were not certain. So I snapped one up as soon as I saw it even though I thought it was rather expensive. Sadly I'm very disappointed as the temperature control is just not accurate enough. One unit has already been exchanged but the replacement has the same issue too - it is about two ℃ less than what is set. I have checked with two different thermometers and have the same result each time. It is too expensive for such inaccuracy!
A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry the replacement Proofer hasn't been as expected. The folding proofer is designed to keep the contents of the proofer at the temperature set point. Because the proofer heats both by convective heating (from the temperature of the internal air) and radiative heating (from the temperature of the aluminum heating plate) it can be confusing if you try to measure the temperature just by putting a thermometer inside the unit. This is the way we test the temperature setting of the proofer. Fill a small metal cup (0.25 Lt cup is best) half full with room temperature water. Place this cup on the wire rack in the center of the proofer. Turn on the proofer and set to 25-30C. Wait for about 45 minutes then measure the temperature of the water. You should find the water temperature to be within 1-2 degrees of the set point value. Other materials such as wet dough in the proofer will respond in a similar manner to the cup of water.We do hope you find this useful. We'll be in touch shortly to help.
