Lakeland Make-Your-Own Cumberland Sausage Kit
Bangers and mash will taste all the more delicious when you’re tucking into sausages made by your own fair hand. And the wonderful thing is that, as you’ve made them, you’ll know exactly what has gone into them. Veronica, our kitchenware buyer and her team have been experimenting with these kits, and we’ve all enjoyed the results… in fact, one bite just wasn’t enough for a lot of us!
No complicated kit needed and incredibly easy to make, all you’ll need is 1.5kg of good quality minced meat and our kit to create approximately 20 perfectly piped sausages. Inside the box you’ll find 150g of seasoning mix, approx. 4m sausage casing, instructions and a grippy piping bag.
Cumberland Sausage - Naturally, our favourite kind… and it’s easy to pipe a 25cm traditional ring.

“Sauasage Struggle
” by Dave Mercer
Lakeland Make-Your-Own Cumberland Sausage Kit
We live in the Netherlands so the idea of being able to make our own English style sausages was very appealing. Everything went well until we tried to put the sausage filling into the casing with the piping back - This proved to be impossible for me - very hard to push the filling out of the back and impossible to get it to evenly fill the casing, which was either empty or just split open - I needed extra hands to try and hold the casing and squeeze the bag at the same time - maybe with practise I could get it right but as a one off try out was not possible for me.
A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry you've found it difficult to use the sausage kit. There is the video demonstration on the web which shows the hand pipe method this will help if you're having problems. We'll be in touch shortly.

“Difficult to make

Lakeland Make-Your-Own Cumberland Sausage Kit
Bought this for my hubby as he love sausages . All went well up to filling the skins, and needed both of us to do this, and it was a struggle. However the end result was lovely sausages without having tough skins.

I would say don't give up too easily sounds as though a little more liquid would make it easier to push the sausage out experiment .!!
