I needed this pan quickly I called my local store and reserved it. The first 2 cakes were chocolate. I used a well tried recipe for an 8" square cake, (185g butter,330g caster sugar, 2.5tsp vanilla extract,3 eggs,75g self-raising flour, 225g plain flour, 1.5tsp bi-carb, 80g cocoa, 280ml buttermilk) The batter quantity fitted perfectly. Baking. The pan stood in a tart tin, surrounded in a 'nest' of newspaper. Part-way through baking a baking sheet on the shelf above to reduce over-baking. Baking time, 1 hr 15. Next a Madeira, and perfect results. Thank you Lakeland for a fabulous product.
