"GREAT UTILITY KNIFE"
Excellent cutting edge especially on veg, fruit and salad. Wish they made one with a longer blade, this one is OK for most things but can be a little on the short side. Please make a longer one, perhaps 18cm

About our Ceramic Knife range
Crafted from zirconium ceramic for durability, the mirror-polished blades of our ceramic knives are 50% harder than steel knives, will stay sharp about 10 times longer and probably never need sharpening at all.
Being ceramic, they won’t rust or discolour your fruit or vegetables – which makes them perfect for preparing salads – and, because they’re really light, they’re a joy to handle, too. Each one comes with its own protective sheath.
15cm (6") blade

This is a lovely knife, but I have gone back to my old knife to cut through butternut squash and sweet potatoes. I have spoken to Lakeland for advice and have read the reviews as suggested, but no one seems to mention hard root vegetables. I can hardly go into store with a butternut squash for a demonstration. Please help.
We're sorry that the knife has not been good with tackling butternut squash and sweet potatoes. The reason it's struggling on hard root vegetable is the ceramic knife blade is brittle, so any flexing, such as when using to cut a hard vegetable as it works it's way through the task, may cause the blade to snap. We hope this clarifies and that you'll find the knife a useful addition to your kitchen for much softer vegetable and fruit.
Very disappointed. It does say don't drop but it is very easy to drop, as I did with slightly wet hands whilst chopping some washed vegetables, and the knife snapped in 2.
We were really careful with our knife, but after only a few uses the blade had a number of small chips missing. Returned it for a credit note, but now I'm wondering, where did the bits go?! While it was useable, we loved it, though. Cuts beautifully.
Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry you've been disappointed with the ceramic knife. We are please our colleagues in store were happy to help when you returned. We do recommend using the ceramic knives on softer fruit and vegetables as the blades are delicate and can chip and break if used on harder foods.
Well I am disappointed again...you advertise that these knives stay sharp for years. I use a wooden chopping board, hand wash the knife after every use and return it to its protective case. Yet after a few months they are not as sharp as first bought. I must have had at least 6 of these knives and each one only stays sharp for a few months.
Thank you for placing your review. We're sorry to hear of your disappointment and we'll be in touch shortly.
