Lakeland Ceramic Utility Knife 10cm Blade
Product number: 16288
Ideal for jobs requiring fine work like scoring fish skin or piercing the skin of a roast to insert sprigs of herbs and for delicate cutting tasks, this 10cm (4") Ceramic Utility Knife is great to handle because it’s so light and will stay sharp for much longer than a steel equivalent.
10cm blade.
About our Ceramic Knife range
Crafted from zirconium ceramic for durability, the mirror-polished blades of our ceramic knives are 50% harder than steel knives, will stay sharp about 10 times longer and probably never need sharpening at all.
Being ceramic, they won’t rust or discolour your fruit or vegetables – which makes them perfect for preparing salads – and, because they’re really light, they’re a joy to handle, too. Each one comes with its own protective sheath.
10cm (4") blade.

Very sharp knife but blade broke off at handle on second use.

This was a great knife for around 6 months. Despite having always used and cared for it appropriately the handle completely separated from the blade whilst I was cutting some veg so I can't help but feel disappointed.
Thank you for placing your review. I'm sorry to hear of your experience and I'll be in touch to help.
I bought this knife in June and have been very pleased with it. As others have said it is extremely sharp and slices very thinly if required. I always wash it by hand after use but noticed a couple of days ago it had a chip in the middle of the blade. It does it's job very well but needs to be more robust for daily use.
Thank you for placing your review. Ceramic knives are more susceptible to chipping than steel ones. We'll be in touch to help.
I had 2 sweet potatoes to chop up and it couldn't even manage that. It gets stuck half way through the potato! It 'might' be suitable for opening a plastic bag but I wouldn't guarantee it.
Thank you for placing your review. We're sorry the knife didn't meet your expectations. Ceramic knives are excellent for slicing soft foods, like onions, tomatoes, meat or fish but not for hard or frozen foods. We'll be in touch to help.
Have bought several of these knives. Initially they really are excellent. However, as they get dull it is very difficult ( or expensive) to get them resharpened. Also beware - are NOT dishwasher safe. Many thanks to Lakeland for replacement even though there is a waring of this.
Thanks for placing your review. We're pleased our customer service team were able to help with your issue. The knives aren't suitable for the dishwasher and this is advised in the instructions. These type of knives can be sharpened but this needs to be done through a specialist service to return then to their original sharpness.
