This thermometer is so much better than the flimsy little thing it's replaced. The fact that I can use it when cooking meat is a bonus, I thought I probably wouldn't use it for that purpose but after just 'giving it a try' when cooking a chicken, it's now 'standard practice'. Those few extra minutes allotted to poultry - just to be on the safe side, are now a thing of the past and my poultry is that bit more succulent as a result. Needless to say, it's just as good when used for making yoghurt, custards, choc' desserts etc. Haven't tried jam making yet but - you never know..........
