I bought this cake pop maker a few days ago and have not stopped using it, it's fab. Like people have said it's trial and error getting the right amount and better to use a piping bag. The cake pops taste amazing, I followed the recipe's from the book included which are very easy to follow. They have gone down a treat in our house and are really fun to make, I would highly recommend and this is the cheapest I could find :-)!!

My granddaughter bought me the cake pop maker for my birthday and it is fantastic,I just use my normal cake mix recipe and the pop cakes come out great. I lent the machine to my friend so that she could make them with her grandson, she made some for friends as well and now five of them have gone on to order the machine and also my friend bought one.

Recieved my cake pop maker today and couldn't wait to try it. Lots of recipes included to try from but just did the basic vanilla one. This is so easy, so quick. I used a piping bag to get the right amount in the little holes rather than spooning it in. Just make sure the green light is on before you do each batch, because I had a batch that took 10 mins due to me not checking the green light, after that though plain sailing. And my children had a great time decorating them. Oh and they taste great!!

I got this as a prize in your Easter competition. It really is as easy as pie - or cake! The pops are great for a quick treat, 5 minutes and you're ready to decorate or eat. Nothing difficult to master, basic cake mix works great. Treat yourself, you know you want to!

Wonderful gadget! (And idiot proof)!”
I was not at all convinced that this would work but I should have trusted Lakeland. It is wonderful! Used it for the first time today and made the chocolate cake recipe from the little booklet. Quick and easy to make and, four minutes later, delicious light and tasty cake balls. Totally forgot to oil the little moulds as instructed but none of them stuck, they came out really easily. No mess at all, just a quick wipe and the machine was ready to put away. Great fun dipping them in chocolate and decorating and everyone loves them. Highly recommended.

My New Best Friend! I love it!”
by Mrs Vaughan
I bought it after reading a review on another cake decorating blog. I ummed and ahhhed for a few days. Did I really need one? No. Could it really be as easy as it suggests? Hmmm. Only 6 balls at a time? Could take ages to do a batch... All wrong! So easy to use, nice size balls (ooer!) and 4 mins just flies by ready for the next batch. I didn't use one of the supplied recipes as I was already baking cupcakes so just used some of the mixture I was already using. They were perfect. I already make cakes for friends, family and acquaintances, I now have a new, very fun string to my bow!

More Practice Needed!”
by Dawn Slaughter
This machine arrived on Wednesday and I did make a batch of the Lemon Popcakes as per the recipe in the accompanying booklet. I didn't manage to get any good "ball" shape and I'm not sure why. They were tricky to cover - chocolate wasn't runny enough and I didn't have any Candy Melts, whatever they are. However, the finished articles were well received and the size make them great for people who would like a piece of cake but ought not to over-indulge (like me!).

just got one of these as very pleased with cupcake maker. My 11 year old daughter was straight in there and produced her first batch in a few minutes. Easy recipes, easy to use, great fun to decorate. Good for children and adults when that sweet moment strikes

cake pop machine”
I recently bought one of these machines after receiving vouchers for Christmas, I have used it a few times but at first it was trial and error could not get the right amount in each one and found using a spoon rather messy, I then thought about my piping bag so I put all the mixer in my big piping bag and was really pleased with the result, I got the right amount in each one and it is much quicker, I make these for work when we have charity fund days (I work in a DIY store) and they go down really well, I have just done Easter chicks for my granddaughter to give her friends at dance school,

Not so poptastic”
Was excited about this product but after a number of attempts I am unable to get good results. A lot of grease escapes the pop, they are not cooking evenly and often come out of the maker misshapen. Have followed the recipes but am not getting good results. In my opinion the machine is way too hot to the touch for children to use safely unsupervised. Have now tried several times with several mixtures and am just not getting satisfactory results. I think this item is on its way back to Lakeland! (followup - most excellent customer service from Lakeland as always sorting this out)

I have just purchased the cake pop maker and my first batch have turned out great. Follow the recipe and it is so simple and the cakes taste great. Provided you don't fill above the top of the dell in the machine - they come out perfect. Brilliant for little people as the cakes are a great size and the first batch is ready in just over 4 minutes.

I recently purchased the cake pop maker. I brought it to my childrens school to do a school easter cooking day to-day and it went down a treat. The mixture was easy to make for children of primary age and i used the machine myself because of the danger with hot items. After the 1st run when I didn't use enough mixture the game was on and we made over 70 pop cakes and all the children had great fun decorating them. We also used the easter egg mounds and the children took turns layering the chocolate and making the sweets. We raffled off the eggs at the end of the day. Brill fun had by all

This little machine is amazing, I bought it for easter and as biscuit cutting and decorating is getting a bit samey for the kids and we have a couple of really little ones who couldn't cope with the intricacies of egg decorating. All the kids also like the chocolate fountain so it seemed to be the best of both worlds although I was sceptical it would work especially with gluten free cake mix so thought I better give it a try before the party. My word what an overwhelming success, cakes 'popped' out perfectly after 4 mins and on first attempt and had so much fund decorating with candy melts

I had been looking forward to getting one of these for ages so was thrilled when I eventually got it home. However I tried both the recommended recipe and my own and neither resulted in my cakes coming out of the machine properly they always stuck. I I have liberally greased the machine, even tried your cake release, and still cannot get them out in one piece! I found I had to use a teaspoon to get them out, as nothing else would work and this has now scratched some of the non stick coating off. The cakes also tend to split in half! Really disappointed :(

A note from the team: Thank you for placing your review. We're sorry to hear the cake pop maker did not meet your expectations. We don't recommend using metal utensils on the plates as this can scratch the non stcik coating.Greasing or use of cake release should ensure the cake pops don't stick. We're be in touch to help.
What am I doing wrong?”
by Ms Law
Overall, I do like this product. Makes lovely pop cakes without having to roll them out individually by hand...However, I am slightly disappointed as mine seem to have crumbs left each time I get the pops out. So I find that I have to clean the inside, and re-apply cake release each time. Also, it would be better if it makes more cake pops each time instead of 6 as it's becomes quite fiddly to clean after each batch. That said, it was lots of fun decorating the cake pops and the result is very impressive. My 6 year old loves it as well!

A note from the team: Thank you for placing your review. We are aware some of the cake mix may spill out or leave a few crumbs but another customer has suggested a simple removal with a cocktail stick does the trick!Cake release or a little oil brushed over the plates will avoid sticking but will need reapply to get great results. We'll be in touch soon.
Great little gadget, value for money!”
I have never had so much fun! And it's easy to clean. I find it easiest to pipe in the dough from a bag, so as not to overfill the 'cup', but even the overspill is easy to clean. The price tag is a winner, too!

Cake Ball Magic”
I recently read on a baking blog about these little cakes. The Lakeland machine was the recommended vehicle. I received mine yesterday and had to try it out last night. I am not disappointed. The cakes are gorgeous, the possibilites endless for variation of cake, decoration etc. I too abhor the idea of breaking up a perfectly good cake to make cake pops - these are a much better idea.

Absolutely loving the cake pop maker - I thought it might be something that I would use a couple of times and it would then reside in the back of the cupboard with othher gadgets but this is definitely not the case. I have found using a piping bag with a large round nozzle the quickest and most accurate way of filling each hole with the right amount of mix. Made a batch this morning which the children decorated and put into silver mini muffin cases - they looked stunning and tasted great too
