Imagine a loose-based cake pan that is completely watertight and leak-proof and requires absolutely no lining... We thought our eyes were deceiving us when this baking innovation arrived in the Lakeland sample room – until we tried PushPans for ourselves.

Our dear friend, Mary Berry, also tried our PushPans, and told us… "I used a Pushpan to make my Apple Cake and found that nothing leaked out, and it was a doddle to release the cake. A proper sturdy tin that's a joy to use." And if they’re good enough for ‘The Queen of Cakes’, they’re good enough for us too!

An exciting world first, each pan has a uniquely integrated silicone seal on its loose base which guarantees that not a bit of cake mixture will find its way out of the pan; and since not a drop of water can get in either, they’re incredible for baking a cheesecake in a water bath without the faff of fashioning a lining or wrapping your pan in foil first.

Advanced, patented technology means you can push out any depth of cake with ease, releasing your creations for perfect presentation every time – even with the largest celebration cakes. Just place the pan on a tall can from your cupboard then push down to release the silicone seal. Made from heavy gauge, silver anodised aluminium, they offer even heat distribution with no hotspots, are oven safe to 230°C, freezer safe and metal utensil-friendly. There are handy fill lines on the interior of each pan, giving the option of a shallow or deeper cake, or a perfectly measured-out multi-layered mousse.

TIP. The seal is very efficient. Before first use, we advise washing and drying the pan. Next, coat the inside and the base with a small amount of cooking oil then push in the base. This will help when pushing up the base and also enhance the pan’s natural non-stick performance. With use, the pan will build up a patina which further enhances the natural non-stick.

Lakeland 20cm PushPan®

I have used these tins over and over again, have made cheesecakes and sponges, they work perfectly every time with no leakages and turn out perfectly. Best purchase I made. I only wash them in hot water with no detergent as recommended and then oil them.

Lakeland 20cm PushPan®

I was really excited about never having to line my tin again but it hasn't really worked out for me. I made a fruit cake and a cherry and marzipan cake and although the sides didn't stick I had trouble getting both cakes of the base and it ruined my fruit cake as it had chunks missing from the bottom ... So it's just sitting in my cupboard unless anyone has any solutions

Lakeland 20cm PushPan®

These REQUIRE lining. When they're lined, they work perfectly. I've just made a rich fruit cake, greased the tin very thoroughly as instructed and et voila, it won't push out at all. Eventually I've pushed it out after running a knife around the side and probably damaging it but it's still welded to the base. I've basically just lost my cake and all that time and effort. I have this pushpan in several sizes and the 20cm is the one I'll use most. I see there's a new version but I have two of this size (for sandwiched cakes) and won't be spending another £25 on two more! What a con!!!
