I am able to poach eggs 'properly' and almost perfectly in boiling water on the hob but bought this product in order to save on the washing-up. I appreciate that I may need to experiment with timings, but since what I had this morning was one over-cooked egg (which 'exploded') and one under-cooked egg, I'm not sure how adjusting the timings is ever going to result in two eggs of the same consistency. Does anyone have any tips for making sure both eggs come out the same? I am now regretting this purchase, it looks like it might just be a useless gimmick.
A note from the team
We're sorry to hear you've experienced this problem.Another customer has kindly sent feedback to share the method used of a successful attempt, we hope this helps. It did take a bit of experimentation as my microwave was stronger than the default one on the instructions (mine is 950W). I now fill the cups about a quarter to a third full of water and do 30 secs on full power with the lid on. Then I crack in the eggs, replace the lid, and cook for 40 secs. Perfect cooked whites and soft, runny yolks. It's a good idea to let the eggs stand for 30 secs as well. Sometimes it looks as if the eggs aren't cooked, but it's just the way the water sits around them, and they are in fact done. We'll be in touch soon to help.
